Production Technology meets Industry 4.0

It is my great honor to attend this Summer Course organized by RWTH Aachen University. The class was so active that I liked it. The teachers always encouraged us to ask questions and were happy to answer them. Thanks to all the teachers for their hard work! I like Germany very much and prefer to study there one day. I really like the German culture and the German language. The pronunciation of German words is characteristic and pleasant. I am working hard to learn German and hope to go to Germany for further study in the future.

What would you improve about this program?
If there had been no COVID-19 outbreak, we could travel to Aachen this summer to experience the local culture face to face. That's a pity.

An amazing and unforgettable experience

I had the opportunity of doing this Summer Course in 2017. I am sure it was one of the best experiences of my life and there are lots of different aspects that make me say that.

FIrst, talking about the academic part. I have contact with three fascinating teachers. They always cared so much for our learning and were always clever during the explanations. We were motivated for continuing our studies at home and applying in a final project. Not only the academical subjects were remarkable for me, but also about the methods for learning and studing will make a big difference for my academical and professional life. The institution RWTH Aachen and its structure are immense, its name for sure makes an important impact in our CV.

For me it is really hard describing the support we had. The international academy was always there, prepared, polite and friendly, solving all our problems and giving amazing advices. Even before the exchange program they were active and efficient by e-mails. In Aachen they made us feel at home and get the best possible for this experience.

Aachen is a small but active town. The night life was alive almost everyday and one could always find something interesting to do. It is important pointing that Aachen is a student town, full of young people. Besides that, the international academy always propose some activities that made our stay even better. The weekends were free and we could travel to different amazing cities, as Aachen is located in the middle of Western Europe. The group of students with us was amazing. Lots of interesting people from all over the world, having incredible experiences to share and new moments to live.

The housing was well located, in front of the Hauptbahnhof. It was easy for getting to the center of Aachen. The bedrooms were good and sharing one was not difficult. The common areas were important and good for us to socialize. The internet was a small problem, as sometimes it was not really fast. We had some trouble with the energy at the kitchens, but it was always fastly solved. Everyone had its own key and could arrive at the time one wants.

Overall, I would definetaly recommend Aachen. In all aspects this time made me a better professional and person. I am already prepared for applying again next year and living it all again!

What would you improve about this program?
Just small problems could be fixed. About the accomodation the internet could be better. One other thing that would make the summer course perfectwould be changing the its duration for 4 weeks, in spite of just 3. This way we would learn more about the subjects and would have more time in this amazing city.

A wonderful experience

This summer school program on " Sustainable Energy Technology" successfully met all the expectations that I had in my mind. The course was well structured, with academics being the top priority, followed by excursions and fun activities. I had an amazing time interacting with professors who were super focused on their field of work, especially Dr. Andreas who was highly dedicated towards his work and gave us a nice tour of his workplace in Wiesbaden. I loved interacting with people from various nationalities, varied ethnic backgrounds, yet we all shared a common interest, to learn and share the knowledge available, to make this world a better place. I took some time on weekends to visit the neighboring countries of Belgium and Netherlands and loved each and every second of my experience. All in all, it was a very nice experience and I would love to come back soon enough to upgrade my knowledge as well as enrich myself with the amazing land of ideas- Deutschland.

Herzlich Willkommen

What would you improve about this program?
I would say increase the duration of the course by a day or two and stress more on the simulation exercises so that we can actually take back something useful out of it. Rest everything was fine

Great experience

Staying in Aachen and studying at RWTH were one of the most incredible experiences I've ever had. I'm so grateful for all the attention, support, lectures, trips and all the learning that came from all these things. I've met people that for sure will continue being my friends for a long time. I just want to thank RWTH Summer School Team for such an amazing chance of getting to know Germany a little bit better. I hope I'll be back someday.

What would you improve about this program?
Better housing, the wifi wasn't good and the stove wouldn't work sometimes.

Why did you choose this program?

I chose this program because I know how important it is to understand how automation and simulation work in the engineering world. I chose it because Germany is a country I really admire for its history and people. I knew this program would add a lot to my life.

What did your program provider assist you with, and what did you have to organize on your own?

I had all the support I needed. It was incredible, and I had nothing to worry about. The program provider helped me with housing, breakfast, city tour and making friends.

The main things I had to organize on my won were the flight tickets and extra nights I stayed there.

What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone going on your program?

Talk to people. Meet new people. People are a huge source of information, knowledge and happiness. Get to know the city and other cities too, if you have the chance. There are many special prices for students.

Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?

My biggest fear was to fail speaking German. But I tried a lot to learn whatever I could! People are always open to help and they understand we're learning and it's okay to make mistakes.

Did you only study?

Not at all! Studying is really important but don't focus on this part of your trip! Go out, hang out with your new friends, get to know the historical parts of the city! It's ok to conciliate!
