My daughter is having a great experience

My daughter was unsure at first about starting her first semester of college abroad, but I convinced her to bite the bullet and it is clear that it was the best decision. This program has allowed her to transform into an independent, confident, and creative individual. She is growing a broader perspective, learning about herself, and discovering how to fiercely navigate the world as a young woman. Verto encourages the students’ independence while also providing meaningful support. I am thankful for how comfortable her homestay has made her feel.

I loved studying abroad with Verto Education!

I absolutely loved studying abroad in Costa Rica with Verto Education. If you love nature and are passionate about environmental science, this is definitely the place to be. One of my favorite things was going on hikes to see amazing waterfalls, and I also had a great time white water rafting on the Pacuare River. One of the most rewarding experiences was planting 1,000 trees in the Pacuare River Basin with the RAFA organization. Overall I had an amazing experience and I met some of the most amazing people I think I will ever meet.

Pros
  • meal plan
  • living in a walkable town
Cons
  • academics were not very challenging

Best decision I've ever made

I'm so happy I decided to study abroad with Verto! Not only can I gain credits and be on track to graduate in 4 years, but I get to do so in such an amazing location! London is a world-class city and there is never a shortage of things to do. If you love traveling, meeting new people, and hands-on learning outside of the classroom, Verto is for you. One of my favorite aspects of Verto's programming is its approach to experiential learning. I love going on field trips in my classes and using the city of London to really enhance my learning. For example, I've been to the British Museum for art history, Speakers Corner in Hyde Park for Communications, and the Imperial War Museum for International Relations. Since classes only meet once a week (and most people have no classes on Friday!) I've also been able to explore London and travel to places outside the UK. I can't recommend Verto enough :)

My experience with Verto education in Costa Rica

I want to start out by saying verto has a lot of support to offer, which I thought was amazing compared to other colleges. Although there have been some bumps in the road with housing, and food. But i understand everything has it’s ups and downs and I have to say verto’s faculty staff has handled it very well. I have made so many connections here when it comes to future colleges and opportunities. This program gives you the opportunity to travel while getting a degree.I recommend anyone to Verto, this experience has been life-changing.

My Verto Experience

As a current Verto member in London, it is amazing to be able to gain college credits while being able to live in a different country. I have been able to understand the lifestyle of a different country, while still being able to combine my lifestyle before this experience. I have been able to travel, both as a part of the Verto program and individually. At Verto, I can have a different experience than the "conventional" four-year college path. This program is recommended to people that want that different experience and love to travel.

My personal experience working with Verto in Costa Rica

I’ve been with verto for a month now and here is experience so far! Overall I’ve had a great experience, from the professors to our ALC and SLC they are all here to see you succeed. Housing is a little hectic, but staff is trying to work on that right now. Food is good for the first 2 weeks but does get repetitive, but there is a cafe on the campus and food can be delivered as well. Safety wasn’t really talked about for the first week, but as time has gone on it’s has been talked about. We also had an Panama excursion and that was very fun and educational! Only thing I feel the staff need to work on it communication, I feel a lot of the time no one is on the same page. But again you make your own happiness and I promise you it’s amazing here!

Pros
  • Education while abroad
  • Small class
  • Traveling
Cons
  • Housing
  • Lack of communication

A Genuine Education Experience

This semester in Sevilla has been exceptional. My teachers are not only knowledgeable in their fields, but are genuine and amazing human beings. They have made taking in the sights and history of this city so much easier and have found their own ways to tie it back to what we learn in class. I think the greatest example of this is the way that my current English teacher encourages us to go out into new environments throughout the city during class to fully imerse ourselves in Sevillan culture. An overall amazing learning journey.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Planning is the key to managing life and school. Manage your time with classes to be able to experience and immerse yourself in Sevillan culture.
