One of my Best Experiences!!

Verto Education is an institution that truly emphasizes experiential learning, where students aren't limited to the four walls of a classroom. Although offering a variety of amazing, substantial courses, with accredited teachers, Verto is unique because it gave me (and will give you) opportunities to grow as an individual, through meaningful excursions, networks with individuals who continuously support you, and through the experiences you may want to embark on yourself through independent travel! <3

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Make the best out of the excursions! They're meaningful!

Spring Semester Abroad in Costa Rica

Studying Abroad in Costa Rica has been an amazing and life changing experience. At first I was concerned it was a scam, but I applied anyways, and the rest was so easy. Being in Costa Rica now, I feel genuinely supported by the staff and like I’ve made productive and genuine connections with my professors. I’ve been given the opportunity to connect with the culture in an immersed way that has been so eye opening. I feel like this program has helped shape me into a global citizen. I am beyond grateful for what this experience has provided me both academically and personally.

What was your funniest moment?
My interactions with the staff, my cohort, and the locals

Verto Education Spring 2021

Great trip. Snorkeled, Scuba-dived , Skydived, went zip-lining, and visited many other sites. Fijian staff was phenomenal and supported our learning during all activities and times of day. Got a greater understanding of the world as a whole without learning through textbooks and enjoyed learning the whole time. Country was beautiful, water was clear, great reefs. The base house where 5-6 weeks in total is spent has lovely staff, rooms were clean and nice, and it had a pool and many games to play.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
I have an immense fear of highs but through the support of my friends and staff I went skydiving. Out of the 24 students on my trip, 23 went skydiving and I did not want to have regrets looking back on the trip. I went and while nervous, I had a blast!!

A Good Time

My semester in Fiji with Verto Education was the greatest adventure of my life. And I would highly recommend the program for anyone wanting to wait a little before going off to a four year college. What sets Verto in Fiji apart is the people. The staff in Fiji were some of the most incredible people I have ever met, and made me feel at home half way across the world. My classmates went from strangers to family and now I know wherever I go in the U.S. I will have friends near by. Also due yourself a favor and grog some kava.

What was your funniest moment?
Sleeping in a hammock on the beach in Somosomo under the stars.

Lyla’s review

This program was unique because of the amazing opportunity to experience Fijian culture at its roots. Being able to meet and stay with local villagers and communities was made possible by Verto. The immersion and acceptance by the Fijian community is something that has changed my life and an adventure I will forever be grateful for. The mixture of college classes and field work was a perfect match for a person who thrives in hands on learning settings such as myself. Being able to travel to multiple locations for extended amounts of time was also beneficial.

What would you improve about this program?
Although we had some time in the villages and with local community members I think students would benefit greatly from even more time in villages and more freedom as well.

Great experience abroad!

Loved getting to know the local culture. Fiji is one of the most amazing places I have ever been! If you have the opportunity to come here, do it!!! You will not regret it. I took a gap year and came on this trip before college. I really think that the values of this country and the people that I met here will have a permanent impact on me and my future! This country is also so beautiful and full of amazing places to see and things to do!!! The VERTO staff are some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met. I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything :)

What would you improve about this program?
I would have loved more time to explore solo, like more opportunities for independent immersion. More time in the village!

Fiji is Awesome - Verto

I learned so much about the world and myself through my incredible time in Fiji with Verto. I had so much fun zip lining, sky diving, fire-walking, story telling, snorkeling, exploring, fishing, kayaking, taking pictures, going scuba diving and so much more! The semester was jammed packed with countless activities that peeked the interest of our group and surely students to come. The villages we visited welcomed us with open arms and we were able to learn so much about the people and their culture.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
What surprised me the most was my discovery of the spiritual values and myth that are so well accepted in Fijian culture.

Loved the Semester Abroad in Fiji

Walking away from Fiji is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. The Fijian staff made this trip beyond memorable and supported every step of our journey. I adored getting to know my fellow classmates and being able to confidently walk away with some of the best friends I’ve ever made. I went zip lining, skydiving, snorkeling, fishing, relished in countless sunrises, attended kava ceremonies and a mini olympics, and so much more! I would recommend this trip to anyone willing to put themselves out there and embark on an adventure of a lifetime!

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
The most nerve racking moment of this trip was going sky diving. I am afraid of heights, and on top of that simply jumping out of a plane is beyond terrifying. However, although the build up and plane ride threw my stomach in knots, once I was soaring through the air, it was the most incredible experience of my life.

Verto Educación

I loved this school. It is amazing for those who want to travel and want to make fun memories that last forever. The best part is you can get your degree as you travel, and you get to create memories that you could never have at a regular college. Each day is filled with unexpected adventures and classes packed with information. This school is a place that you want to go if you want to have the best time of your life your first year of college. I recommend the school for anyone who loves to travel and loves to be adventurous.

What was your funniest moment?
When our program leader fell on a hike, it was a time of nonstop laughter for everyone there and it is a moment I will always remember!

Great experience but some downsides

Let me start by saying a good group dynamic is definitely need for this to be an enjoyable semester and I am so happy to say I was put with the best group ever very understanding and we worked through any problems that arose with the help of our wonderful program leaders. Also a big shout out to Chris morales he opened my eyes to ways to solve problem and combat things with healthier options. With that we got through so much, the activities are fun and more outdoors. I made so many good friends. Now the down side is the WiFi and the food for people who do not consume meat or any other animal products. The WiFi wasn’t great in the first base house and the nor in the second because it didn’t really work inside your rooms and that can be a bummer hopefully this is something verto takes into consideration about checking before hand. As for the vegan /vegetarian options they could use a lot of work it wasn’t all bad but there would be time frames where it just wasn’t good I can understand not knowing the lifestyles that well but some people should be educated on the matter and plan out the alternative options for people like us. Thankfully to my program leaders whom heard my feedback and helped me achieve if not the best better food :) Andrea and Shannon and MEMO are truly the best program leaders you’ll come across and I strongly recommend you recommending to be in their group.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Zip lining was the most scariest thing I have ever done and I can’t say I’ll do it again but at least I tried it once
