A Must-Do if you're doing TEFL

Rachael was such a great course leader, and I feel more motivated than ever to continue with my TEFL training!

The course days may seem long, but they're divided into subjects in such a way that I never felt like the days dragged on - if anything, they were over so quickly!

You go over a little of what's covered in the online courses, but the majority of the weekend course is new information, and I would say it's essential to getting a feel for what actually teaching a class will be like.

Mostly participatory - there's little note taking involved. There are a couple of group presentations, but they're very low stakes and a great way to try out lesson planning and delivering.

So glad I took part, and I'd recommend it to anyone who's thinking of or already doing TEFL.

What would you improve about this program?
Nothing. I felt the course was perfect as is. A good length, plenty of breaks, and covered a wealth of subjects without being overly complicated.

Tefl classroom

Informative and helpful information regarding modules/topics/lesson planning, engaging lessons and teaching (pictures, tasks, videos, roleplay), covered a wide range of questions and topics which was great! Also good that we could ask questions throughout and hear the teachers own experiences ! Good amount (2 days), not too short or long! Lessons and teacher provided confidence and a clearer idea of what to expect for the student! Was an informative, really helpful and enjoyable weekend course...10/10!!!

Useful course

I really enjoyed doing the Mandarin lesson. It was valueable to experience a lesson from the pint of view of the student. I think it is better to do this course after completing the Methodology unit, in which case, being able to lesson plan boosted my confidence. Meeting tutors and other learners was nice after spending a few months just working with a computer screen. It also meant that ideas and expereinces could be exchanged with other learners. The location was convenient and easy to find and get to.

Excellent group training

I had an excellent experience, the in-person group training made the online programme worth taking it. I had been teaching on/off for a while and then I realise that i wasn’t an excellent teacher when we got into detail in the training. So it was worth learning it! I recommend this programme for all ages and life situations. Teaching is always worth it and it can be a good challenge and worth taking the risk! The programme is affordable. It is useful and it is friendly too. It is a good investment too

What would you improve about this program?
Personally, I would like to have more a “academic” training as in a more structured course but this is also a personal perspective. I

Great course - learnt a lot!

Very interesting course with knowledgable, expert tutors. I Felt like I came away with a much broader understanding of teaching techniques and ways to adapt to different classroom settings.

Asif was a great teacher, he gave advice on future prospects, tips on controlling the classroom and shared real life stories to give an idea of the real life responsability you take on as a teacher of English.

Thoroughly enjoyable course, covered a lot of topics and interesting content. I would definitely recommend to a friend.

The best!

I find the course interesting and helpful. In the beginning, I was a little confused and stressful but after doing my classroom course, I'm more confident and relaxed now.I would suggest everyone to go for online + classroom Tefl course. My classroom tutor was phenomenal. He was honest, friendly, approachable and I like all the activities that we deed for the lesson. It was fun learning. The best part about this course is: You become a better teacher by the end of the course.I definitely recommend everyone to go for the TEFL course.

tough but exciting

Thomas was a great teacher, he led by example rather than theory (well, some theory too), I have a TON of notes from things he said and did which really inspired me into seeing teaching as a creative and fun prospect.

The people on the course were lovely. Enthusiastic, non-competitive, funny, energetic. An atmosphere led by a very engaging teacher.

TEFL.ORG so far

I just wanted to share how impressed I am regarding both the weekend course and on line studies.
The skill and relevant knowledge of the tutor far surpassed my expectations. Its was fun, interactive, educational and gave me the confidence to think I can really do this. The on line course is very easy to follow with lots of instruction. Yes there is alot of work to do but doing the weekend course and talking to the other students has really motivated me. I feel a person does need a good grasp of the English language to be able to do the course.

Very Good Course

Excellent overall course. Both days were very engaging and the course instructor gave an excellent introduction to the TEFL curriculum and what's needed in order to teach English to adult and child learners. The day was structured well and there were plenty of opportunities to ask questions and engage with the instructor and the other people attending the course. All aspects of TEFL were covered including practical tips on how to secure employment overseas. Location was also excellent and tea/coffee were provided both days.

What would you improve about this program?
Another teaching practice lesson would have been good if time was to allow.

Weekend Tefl course

Simon was very engaging in his teaching for the duration of the course from the onset. I loved his sessions in teaching Italian. This was inspiring and tackled the barrier of communicating with Italian alone as an an example. He gave clear examples of teaching styles & grammar and kept our group intent on learning all aspects of classroom management. I really enjoyed this intensive two days and would have been happy to have more classroom time as I find the classroom environment really enjoyable. The games were particularly useful. Thank you Simon.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Presenting to the group as if teaching. However, Simon put us into groups to work with each other. This helped build confidence then when it came to presenting alone I felt supported by the group and found watching the others gave me further ideas of presenting to students.
