This was the most impactful experience of my life and has shaped how I view the world, its people, and my role on it. Keep an open mind, practice cross-cultural competency and get ready to leave your heart with the Ticos.

I enjoy living in Colombia. I don´t always feel safe in Barranquilla, but I enjoy my school and my students. My host family is now my real family. They are all very welcoming and will give you the shirt off their back. The only thing that is nearly unbearable is the heat. It dampens not only your clothes, but your spirit after a while.

To this day, my experience in Colombia with World Teach has been one of the highlights of my life. It was a challenging but incredible and unforgettable experience! I often think about my students, the island life, and the friendships that I made.

Guyana's education system is in tough shape. I worked in a community high school, so I was with the students who did not pass their entrance exam into middle/high school. My 6th grade students had very basic or no reading and writing skills and corporal punishment was a daily reality. This was a very challenging work environment.

WorldTeach provided me with an experience that I will never forget...in fact, I truly think about my time in the Marshall Islands every day. I dream of someday reenrolling in the program!! Perhaps once I retire! I have recommended this program to everyone I know and truly believe it changed my life for the best!

My WorldTeach experience could not have been any better. WorldTeach ensured I was prepared for a year of life in rural Tanzania by securing me a teaching position, housing, transportation and proper training. I entered with minimal teacher's education and felt more than equipped to teach my students once the semester started and I was in front of my first class.

Wonderful program. I was a teaching volunteer in Costa Rica for 1 year and it was exactly what I was looking for--a peace corps-like teaching program but without the bureaucracy. The application process was efficient and I was able to ship out very quickly. After a few weeks of training, I was placed in a village school where the need for a teacher was clear. It was a challenging and rewarding experience. Note - Most volunteers on this program are placed to live with host families, but some (including me) were in private housing. My village had a small house where all of the teachers lived (5 of us), because the Costan Rican teachers were not from the village either. Only downside is that there was an out-of-pocket cost.

I had a fantastic experience. I felt supported prior to departure as well as once I was in country. The host family and school were vetted and prior volunteers led orientation. I would recommend this program to anyone looking for a meaningful oversees experience that does not require imposing political/religious views on the host community.

This was an absolutely incredible experience and World Teach did a phenomenal job organizing/structuring the program. Highly recommended! Now 10 years later people are still intrigued with this part of my CV, and I am not anywhere near the teaching profession. Go for it :-)

I had a wonderful experience with WorldTeach Tanzania. I was a volunteer English teacher in northern Tanzania. My placement was fantastic and I really enjoyed my experience. The program is run well and they offer tons of support. Placements are picked well. I had incredibly positive experience and I would definitely would recommend this program.
