180 hours telf

I am pleased with the course, it was intense and sometimes a bit difficult but I am really happy, it had good support, maybe i will add a bit more individual report after doing the assignments, a bit more than a small comment about one particular answer.
the fact that is possible to request more time, was good (in the end I was in no need) and did give me peace of mind.
the material well very pragmatic and easy to understand, the previous explanation about the course was good, the fact it was a discord community it was good too. Maybe the Tuesday class could be separated by level because it was every day new students with the same question and when the number was large, it was difficult to get time to ask for anything.

My Journey with TEFL Ireland.

Hello, I am at the start of my Journey with TEFL, I am teaching a Level 5 Sports course for the past 8 years, and I have been Instructing/Tutoring/mentoring for the past 24 years, recently I have decided to look at my options for working online, with the view to moving to Spain and living there for half of the year. I found the TEFL 180 hour diploma course and I have recently just completed and passed this course. I have to say it is a quality course, with a very good Internal verification process, which shows the professional standards of TEFL Ireland. At every step of the process you are supported by staff, I have to give a particular nod to Rachel Walsh and Jacob Thomas for their support and advice. I would highly recommend this course to anyone thinking of teaching English, weather online, traveling or face to face. Again thank you TEFL Ireland.

What was your funniest moment?
The online workshops were funny at times!
Pros
  • Excellent content
  • Well laid out and explained questions
  • Prompt responses
Cons
  • If participants are not familiar with Level 5 structure it could slow the process.

Exceptional

I'm a student from Vietnam, took the Level 5 course by OFQUAL and Highfield at The TEFL Institute more than a year ago. I am having some issues with my certificate now in 2024 and they responded to me very quickly and patiently.

By the way, I have to give props to Ms. Olivia Klimczyk who is an amazing Customer Support Staff. She really helped and informed me about the updates of my certificate order.

During the time I studied in this institute, I felt cared for a lot. I highly recommend The TEFL Institute to anyone interested in pursuing a career in teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL). The course was well-structured and informative, and the guided learning was easy to follow. The workload was manageable, and I was able to complete the course at my own pace. The assessment process was time-consuming, but it felt rewarding and legitimate to know that I had earned my TEFL certification through hard work and dedication!

TEFL level 5 Diploma

I had a great experience studying with tefl. I had a lot of help from tutors and support from Rachel Walsh. I would recommend this for people in their 20s, especially those who would like to live abroad and work as a teacher. The course can be easily accessed while travelling. I was able to study at my own pace and on my own time during my travels. The course provides both text and audio so you can chose whether you want to listen to the content or read the content. A lot of teaching jobs abroad require a tefl diploma so this will open so many job opportunities for me in the future and allow me to continue living and working abroad for longer.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
It’s a great way to find job opportunities abroad.
Pros
  • It gives you all the skills you need to teach efficiently
  • It lets you work at your own pace on your own schedule
  • The tutors are very helpful
Cons
  • A lot of extra help available or extensions come with extra fees
  • There are extra fees for obtaining a reference letters

The TEFL Institue 180hr Online course.

This course was straightforward and I appreciated the ease of accessibility. I haven't completed any similar courses to compare it to although based on my impressions of other courses through peers who have completed them, this course was well administered. I had a very easy time reaching out to the staff for support. All of my queries were quickly and satisfactorily addressed. There were a couple of things I didn't like about the course assessment but on the whole I'm very satisfied with what I've learnt and especially the excellent service I received.

What would you improve about this program?
I had a positive experience with most parts of the program and would not change much but there were a couple of sore points which stood out. The quantity of content for each module and lesson varies, that is alright, but the navigation system could indicate this better. For example some lessons have sub-slides within slides. If the slides and subslides could be integrated into subsections of the 'lessons' tab, it would be easier to navigate to a specified point and to gauge how much content is in each lesson. Additionally it would be a simple and great improvement to be able to speed up the automated voiceover.

A greater criticism which frustrated me quite a bit occured during the assessment. The questions on their own lack proper elucidation and the 'question amplification' seems to be an attempt to make up for this. I understand the premise of the amplification but the problem is that the questions on their own are not sufficient without the amplification. Theoretically one should be able to fully comprehend the scope of a question without reading the amplification but I'm not convinced thats the case. The amplifications had so much more detail than the original questions that it made the original questions look like a comparitively unreliable source to be disregarded altogether. This would not be such a problem if there was not so much dissonance between the original questions and their respective amplifications. The amplifications were often verbose, undoing the original scaffolding and causing overlap. I didn't have a hard time answering the questions so perhaps my criticism seems an overexageration but nonetheless I think its fairly obvious the amplifications have been appended to the original questions and subsequently edited. They really ought to be rewritten more succintly and harmoniously.
Pros
  • Clear structure
  • Succint content
  • Reliable web application
Cons
  • Unclear pacing
  • Verbose question amplifications

No Excuses!

I recently completed the 300 Hour Regulated Level 5 Advanced TEFL Diploma through the TEFL Institute, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. From start to finish, the program was incredibly comprehensive and well-structured, providing me with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in teaching English as a foreign language.

The course itself was thorough and engaging, covering a wide range of topics essential for effective teaching. From lesson planning to classroom management, I gained valuable insights that I've already begun applying in my teaching practice.

Overall, I highly recommend the TEFL Institute and their 300 Hour Regulated Level 5 Advanced TEFL Diploma to anyone looking to pursue a career in teaching English abroad. With their comprehensive curriculum and exceptional support team, you'll be well-equipped to make a positive impact in the lives of your students.

What would you improve about this program?
While I was completing the TEFL Institute's 300 Hour Regulated Level 5 Advanced TEFL Diploma, I found the assessments to be quite lengthy. To enhance my learning experience, I would suggest breaking up the questions into smaller chunks to aid in better comprehension and retention. This adjustment would make the assessments feel more manageable.
Pros
  • Comprehensive Training
  • Career Opportunities
  • Professional Development
Cons
  • Time
  • Cost
  • Workload

TEFL.ie 180 Hour Level 5 Diploma

I recently completed the TEFL.ie 180 hour level 5 Diploma with TEFL.ie and I cannot recommend this course and this organisation more! It was very competatively priced and is accredited by Highfield, which ensures that it is recognised and respected throughout the world.

The course layout was really easy to follow, and built on learning and knowledge in a way that wasn't overwhelming. Module goals were clear and modules did not contain too much information. Tutor support was excellent, and my tutor, Rachel Hammond, was fantastic. She answered all my questions quickly and was very helpful at every stage of the course. Weekly tutorial are also provided as part of the course. There are un-assessed quizzes after each section to help you make sure you understand the contents. And assignments (three in total) were corrected and returned very quickly. The course contained lots of tips, links and information about online resources and useful websites, as well as further reading. The 10 hour online teaching course (also provided as part of the course) was very interesting and gave me lots of confidence and tips about teaching online. Again, the tutor, Michelle Benson, was excellent. I really enjoyed doing this course and feel very confident in my ability to teach English as a foreign language as a result.

Pros
  • Easy to follow and well laid out information and modules
  • Excellent tutor support
  • Resources, materials and tips shared
