It has been pretty great

It has been pretty great so far, I have recently started an internship with London based digital marketing agency! The team were very accommodating and truly made an effort to answer all my question within a few minutes sometimes, as well as, provide the best opportunities in the market- which I know is difficult given the current climate.

I also find their ease in contact very helpful. Overall, it is something I would not hesitate to recommend other international students to consider when looking for a job or internship abroad.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
There are not many options available at the moment so definitely take whatever experience you can.

Great Start!

I just started a 12 weeks internship with a private equity firm in London. The team at CP have been very efficient and could not have tried harder. Right from my first interaction, they have been very professional, insightful and worked with me to find the best firm and internship based on my goals.

The internship has already off to a great start, the HR were really organised and I was impressed by how friendly everyone was and despite working remotely, I felt very welcome and part of the team.

I can't recommend this program enough and the team at CP. To explain how efficient and helpful they have been, they managed to have an internship confirmed for me just over a week from my application being submitted.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Things are difficult due to COVID, plan your remote internships well in advance and make sure to stay organized.

Capital Placement is super efficient in finding me an internship

Capital Placement is super efficient in finding me an internship. I worked with Vinay and he's fantastic, always getting in touch with prompt updates! I first contacted them when things were normal, and was given several choices of internships I'd be interested in. Things took a turn due to the COVID-19 outbreaks, but despite that, Capital Placement was still able to work through it and find me a great remote placement. I really appreciate how swift and adaptable they are with the circumstances.

What would you improve about this program?
Nothing. It has been great experience and I'd recommend Capital Placement to anyone!

Great job with finding a paid internship

I recently enrolled on the program and the team at Capital Placement has done a great job with finding a paid internship within a few days of applying. So far, the internship has been great and I think it will add a lot of value to my professional development, especially during these times because it is very difficult to get any sort of internship now.

The staff were helpful throughout the process and very knowledgeable on remote internships, which gave me a lot of confidence. There is nothing I can think of that they could have done differently- highly recommend this program to anyone thinking of applying.

What would you improve about this program?
Capital Placement did a great job with the program, I can't see any way to improve!

Very different!

One of my highlights during the time in London was the colleagues I was working with and I am still so thankful that CP found an internship with the company for me. It was a crazy, very busy, a little bit chaotic, fun loving and lovely work place. All my colleagues were very welcoming from the very first second was such a great experience for me. Even the founders of the firm were so open made the experience really great. During 3 month there was not one minute that I was bored. The company structure in London is very different from what I am used to back home but I realised very quickly that this is the norm in a fast growing startup in London, when I compared it with the experience of other interns on the program.

The company had a very flat hierarchy, which I was really happy about, they prioritised having a great work environment, just as much as they did with getting work done. My supervisor supported me a lot when I struggled with certain tasks, which was reassuring because I was worried about asking for help initially.

I also managed to travel around during the weekends and see more of the country then I first planned. All of this made a great experience and I am so glad I did this internship.

Internship with a Non- profit

This has by far been the most impactful thing I have done! After spending the summer in England, I have noticed a real difference in the way I now approach challenges. When my friend asked me to join her in an internship program abroad, I was really afraid to step out of my comfort zone and would not have done it, if she did not push me to.

I did an internship with a non-profit, helping them with a number of grant proposals and PR. This was very insightful to understand how the funding side of a non-profit worked.

I had a really good time in London and the process was made really smooth by the team at CP, especially Niran and Vinay who really helped me with the process. They provided me with a lot of information and resources, which really put my parents at ease. I cannot thank my friend and CP enough for encouraging me to do this program.

Singapore, the best Internship in Asia!

This internship through CP was my second internship in Asia, the other one was in China and this has by far been the best experience I’ve had in Asia.

I did an internship in China last year which was part funded from my university and I really struggled with the unfamiliarity of the country and with hardly anyone speaking English, it was really difficult. After this experience, I wish I did this first because the culture shock is not as severe and English is widely spoken in Singapore, which really helped.

I interned with a private equity firm here, the work was very interesting and I was given a lot of responsibilities over the course of the internship, which was great and I really learned a lot from my experience here.

Everyone at Capital Placement has been amazing, right from my initial call all the way until the end and I would recommend this program to anyone thinking of doing an internship in Singapore.

Great Experience and a few things to consider.

I had a great time in London, learnt a lot during my internship, which was really busy and the only thing I would highlight is it can get a bit lonely after work, especially if you don’t anyone in the city. I brought this up with CP and they were kind enough to invite me to a few of their office drinks, which really helped and they sent a few suggestions in terms of events where others new to the city meetup. This really helped and made my experience in London so much better and I really enjoyed my time there.

You really have to go out of your way to meet people. This is something I would encourage anyone looking to intern abroad think about as it can really make or break your time abroad. I am not an extrovert by any means and this was very difficult for me at the beginning but I am glad I had this experience.

Overall, I really enjoyed my time and would not hesitate to do another internship abroad.

Had a great time in Singapore

Living and working in months in Singapore for three months was amazing! I was working with the Economist as a research intern in their healthcare consulting division- it was a great experience.

The work culture was completely different from the US and I learned many things by working closely with my supervisor. I gained so much knowledge about the healthcare sector in Asia. I was researching the Asia market and provided data to our clients who are large hospitals and finance companies.

Singapore was an amazing place, I was there with few other interns, and Capital Placement introduced us to many food places, bars and we managed to spend a weekend in Sentosa which was amazing!

I'd highly recommend Singapore and Capital Placement program to anyone!

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Do your research about the city, understand the culture and make sure to explore neighboring countries when you are in Singapore!
