Very different!

One of my highlights during the time in London was the colleagues I was working with and I am still so thankful that CP found an internship with the company for me. It was a crazy, very busy, a little bit chaotic, fun loving and lovely work place. All my colleagues were very welcoming from the very first second was such a great experience for me. Even the founders of the firm were so open made the experience really great. During 3 month there was not one minute that I was bored. The company structure in London is very different from what I am used to back home but I realised very quickly that this is the norm in a fast growing startup in London, when I compared it with the experience of other interns on the program.

The company had a very flat hierarchy, which I was really happy about, they prioritised having a great work environment, just as much as they did with getting work done. My supervisor supported me a lot when I struggled with certain tasks, which was reassuring because I was worried about asking for help initially.

I also managed to travel around during the weekends and see more of the country then I first planned. All of this made a great experience and I am so glad I did this internship.

Internship with a Non- profit

This has by far been the most impactful thing I have done! After spending the summer in England, I have noticed a real difference in the way I now approach challenges. When my friend asked me to join her in an internship program abroad, I was really afraid to step out of my comfort zone and would not have done it, if she did not push me to.

I did an internship with a non-profit, helping them with a number of grant proposals and PR. This was very insightful to understand how the funding side of a non-profit worked.

I had a really good time in London and the process was made really smooth by the team at CP, especially Niran and Vinay who really helped me with the process. They provided me with a lot of information and resources, which really put my parents at ease. I cannot thank my friend and CP enough for encouraging me to do this program.

Singapore, the best Internship in Asia!

This internship through CP was my second internship in Asia, the other one was in China and this has by far been the best experience I’ve had in Asia.

I did an internship in China last year which was part funded from my university and I really struggled with the unfamiliarity of the country and with hardly anyone speaking English, it was really difficult. After this experience, I wish I did this first because the culture shock is not as severe and English is widely spoken in Singapore, which really helped.

I interned with a private equity firm here, the work was very interesting and I was given a lot of responsibilities over the course of the internship, which was great and I really learned a lot from my experience here.

Everyone at Capital Placement has been amazing, right from my initial call all the way until the end and I would recommend this program to anyone thinking of doing an internship in Singapore.

Great Experience and a few things to consider.

I had a great time in London, learnt a lot during my internship, which was really busy and the only thing I would highlight is it can get a bit lonely after work, especially if you don’t anyone in the city. I brought this up with CP and they were kind enough to invite me to a few of their office drinks, which really helped and they sent a few suggestions in terms of events where others new to the city meetup. This really helped and made my experience in London so much better and I really enjoyed my time there.

You really have to go out of your way to meet people. This is something I would encourage anyone looking to intern abroad think about as it can really make or break your time abroad. I am not an extrovert by any means and this was very difficult for me at the beginning but I am glad I had this experience.

Overall, I really enjoyed my time and would not hesitate to do another internship abroad.

Had a great time in Singapore

Living and working in months in Singapore for three months was amazing! I was working with the Economist as a research intern in their healthcare consulting division- it was a great experience.

The work culture was completely different from the US and I learned many things by working closely with my supervisor. I gained so much knowledge about the healthcare sector in Asia. I was researching the Asia market and provided data to our clients who are large hospitals and finance companies.

Singapore was an amazing place, I was there with few other interns, and Capital Placement introduced us to many food places, bars and we managed to spend a weekend in Sentosa which was amazing!

I'd highly recommend Singapore and Capital Placement program to anyone!

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Do your research about the city, understand the culture and make sure to explore neighboring countries when you are in Singapore!

I truly recommend Capital Placement’s London program

My involvement with Capital Placement went well beyond my initial expectations. The people I lived with, worked with and met through this program were all really nice and they are the main reason why my time with the Capital Placement has been so meaningful. I’ve made deep connections with the people I’ve met there and have made memories that will last a lifetime.

More than this, living and working in London in itself was very important experience for me. The Capital Placement is there to provide you help and guidance but you also have the chance to discover the city on your own time as well. It’s easy to meet people outside of the program and everyone is helpful when you want to check a new place downtown, whether it’s an eatery, bar or shop.

I can go on writing what an unimaginable possibility it was to be part of the Capital Placement's summer Internship program, but I believe it’s best that you come and experience for yourself.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
Surprised to see how diverse London was! The city was filled with people from all around the world which I find was amazing!

Fashion design internship in London

I thoroughly enjoyed working in London as a fashion intern for a period of 5 months. I worked for a well known designer based in West London and they are a team of 15. Working with a small team helped me a lot and I can say I learnt many thing during my internship.

The assistance with the workplace arrangements and housing in London was smooth. Capital Placement also paid for an Oyster Card which made my stay even better as I was able to easily see the city!

There was one misunderstanding when I wanted to write to my place of work place regarding holiday but Capital Placement support team quickly resolved it. Apart from that I view the whole 5 months programme as a recommended one as I highly see myself going back for it once I complete my degree.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Plan everything well in advance and don't leave it until the last minute!

Legal Internship in London

I had a great internship with a LegalTech startup in London. I worked directly with the Founders during the internship, the team members and the working environment were great! Everyone during the internship were always more than happy to take the time to help and offer advice when needed.

Capital Placement were very helpful throughout the whole process and I had a great time in London overall. I look forward to coming back next year for another internship in London!

Do not hesitate

I was part of a summer group where we all worked for different firms including NGOs, property firms, FinTech, HealthTech startups, etc. I interned at an accounting firm in East London. During my internship, my Supervisor and the other colleagues were really nice and friendly, they helped me a lot with adjusting to life in the UK and were especially helpful in the first week, which made me feel supported and welcome. The single most important thing I learnt during the internship was not be afraid to ask for help when you are unsure. The more you asked, the more you gain from the internship. I am so glad I did this programme, I had an opportunity to live and work in a great city like London, made some great friends and learnt a lot professionally throughout the programme.
