Review

I really like the school, the teacher and the materials we use in the class , such as the videos and audios.
the website access to student is great, we can review the lessons we have previously studied. The facilities in the building are great, we can enjoy a coffee break in between classes! That’s Mandarin has done wonders for me and my ability in the Chinese language — not only in terms of my raw ability, but for my confidence and willingness to speak the language and use it in my everyday life. The customizable curriculum has helped me and my tutor to hone in on areas that will benefit me most, and has allowed me to delve into vocabulary that suits my interests and career. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the teachers know just how to spark my interest and motivation. Not to mention, the school’s excellent central location in Beijing! I would heartily recommend That’s Mandarin to anyone considering. You will thank yourself later!I can only recommend That's Mandarin school and its teachers to those stuck in lockdown, homeschooling or needing additional assistance.

Teachers 庞 is a knowledgeable teacher.

Teacher 庞 is not only an knowledgeable teacher but also friendly and concerned about the student learning process.
The NihaoCafe is a good and useful feature in the language learning process. I am new at the school but I hope soon be able to know more about the NihaoCafe features and probably able to download the conversations to practice more.
I also think that Lesson Book is a good feature that should be included when join a course lasting several weeks. I think it should be less fancy in order to be more affordable and easy to carry .

Excellent 1:1 tuition

If you're thinking of starting 1:1 tuition, I'd highly recommend That's Mandarin. The online learning system is easy to follow, and the opportunity to review past lessons and preview upcoming ones has been really helpful in my language learning journey. My teacher is very encouraging (and patient!) which has made the experience really enjoyable, and I look forward to each lesson and tracking my progress. This system works very well doing lessons virtually, which makes it a great hybrid model if you plan to do some virtually (especially if not in China) and some in-person.

Very intuitive program providing a learning platform in addidion

A very good and comprehensive program including a platform and books that can be used for self learning. I can recommend it for groups or private classes because I have done both. The school is located in the center of Shanghai, Jingan district and has a nice terrace. Therefore, it offers a nice environment to study. Besides the classes, the school also provides fun activities to meet new people and practice Chinese. The teachers are very friendly and also help you with translations. The teachers also include private questions and learning experiences into the classes.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
Starting earlier with learning Chinese because it takes time and pacients.

The best Chinese language school...

....would have to be That's Mandarin. Their teachers and support staff look after you extremely well and will tailor the programme content to match your needs. All you need is a goal/or goals.
Teachers will only speak Chinese, and although this can be daunting, it helps a lot. You can feel confident the next time you hop into a Beijing taxi and want to navigate beyond "where are you from?" with them.
I highly recommend this school to anyone who is considering taking that step into learning Chinese.

That's Mandarin Beijing

Has been a very good experience learning at the School. The platform is very useful because i can check it anywhere, any moment, because the system is very easy to use. The teaching method is very practical and the teachers are very friendly. The environment is very good and the location is very convenient. The school also has many events during the whole year. I am very happy with the school and suggest more people come to study here. During your time here you are also learning chinese culture.

What was your funniest moment?
Every class has been very funny. I think people are very frinedly.

Great experience

The platform is very intuitive, it's great not having to take notes. It's helpful being able to preview your next lesson so you can be better prepared for the session. My teacher is fantastic, very patient and has great energy which makes the classes fun. The pre-recorded videos are a nice way to break up the lesson and practice listening (and repeating) some other speakers. It feels as though I'm making progress at a good speed without feeling rushed. I've been conducting my lessons virtually but look forward to also doing them in person.

Private 1:1 offline classes at Thats Mandarin

I booked 1:1 classes at Thats Mandarin to learn for my HSK4 Exam. Before I started I was asked what my learning goals are and the lessons were prepared accordingly. The software that Thats Mandarin uses has some minor bugs but it is a very good tool to review and to practise. I don't need to buy books or workbooks, everything is provied online. The teachers are very good and patient. They know how to teach foreigners chinese. I really like the classes there and my Chinese is improving quite fast.

That’s Mandarin

The class size is small like 3~5 so I could learn in more detail such as private class. At the same time classmates from all over the world make the class more exciting and fun. Also the contents of the class is very practical so it can be directly applied to real life, such as how to order and pay in restaurant or how to use delivery service, buy something etc.. It was really useful and exciting. Finally, I liked the lobby in the That’s Mandarin. There, we can freely drink coffe and tea and talk people so we can have some good time before or after class.

What would you improve about this program?
Through this program, by learning Chinese with people from different backgrounds, I was able to adapt to the unfamiliar environment of Beijing a little faster.
