Expanish review

I have nothing but good to say about Expanish, and I highly recommend them. Spanish classes are fun and engaging, and the activities are very fun. But most of all, the staff are warm and welcoming and immediately made me feel cared for in Argentina. Although I had no problems, I would have felt extremely comfortable voicing any concerns, and I know they would have handled them with grace. The energy in the Expanish building is cozy and happy, and I was always excited to go. I wish I could go back.

Expanish is incredible!

Studying abroad is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and my experience with Expanish in Buenos Aires was nothing short of incredible. Expanish not only made the logistics seamless but also created a supportive, welcoming, and dynamic environment where I felt encouraged to grow academically, culturally, and personally.

The staff at Expanish is truly what makes this program shine. Every single member of the team is approachable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about helping students succeed. They go above and beyond to make sure you feel comfortable and safe, while also inspiring you to step outside your comfort zone and embrace everything Buenos Aires has to offer.

Cultural immersion is at the heart of Expanish. The program is designed to make sure students don’t just pass through Buenos Aires as tourists but truly experience the city and its culture. Organized excursions were amazing, from tango classes to day trips outside the city, but Expanish also encouraged me to take initiative and explore on my own.

What I loved most was the balance Expanish created: enough structure to feel supported, but enough freedom to grow independently. I never felt lost, but I also never felt boxed in. This balance pushed me to practice Spanish daily, connect with locals, and develop a much deeper understanding of Argentine culture than I could have imagined.

If you’re considering studying abroad or learning Spanish in Buenos Aires, I cannot recommend Expanish enough. Their professionalism, warmth, and dedication make for an experience that is enriching, unforgettable, and truly life-changing.

One week

I only participated for a week in the language course but enjoyed the small class environment and found the content relevant. It was just a shame that i had some severe migraines that week and could not focus as well as I wanted to. The teachers were knowledgable and the students all friendly. A great campus with helpful staff and fun activities planned throughout the week for newcomers. I had a great time overall and would recommend to other students looking to learn Spanish on site and improve.

Great experience

I stayed 3 weeks and had a great teacher, and the organization was perfect. The size, table, and acoustics of the schoolroom were not comfortable. The standard would be U-shaped. The exploration of the city in the afternoon was disappointing because I felt that the teachers had no interest/skin in the game and the exercises were dull and not interactive. The co-working space on the top was great. The open activities during the week were fun and a good way to learn about people and the city. The Asado was riquissimo :)

What would you improve about this program?
The room, I don’t think its suitable for classes.
Pros
  • Teacher Mariana
  • Gabriels management
  • Staff at the desk
Cons
  • Start earlier at 9am
  • Have a whatsapp group for the class
  • Put conversation class later in the day

Response from Expanish

Thank you very much for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your experience. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your teacher, found the organization of the school to be strong, and appreciated our co-working space, open activities, and the asado.

We also value your constructive comments. Regarding the classrooms, we understand that the layout and furniture may not be the most comfortable; while our current facilities set some limits, we will continue to look for ways to make the learning environment as pleasant as possible.

We truly appreciate your feedback on the Español por la Ciudad activities. We are currently reviewing these activities with our academic team to make them more interactive and engaging, and to ensure teachers feel more involved in each outing.

Once again, thank you for your review and for highlighting both the strengths and the areas where we can improve. We’re happy you had an overall positive experience and hope to welcome you back in the future!

Expanish Spanish School in Buenos Aires

Cannot say enough good things about my experience at Expanish! The teachers were super knowledgeable and patient, the staff was extremely accommodating, and there are students from all over the world with the same end goal- learn to speak spanish! Great location, great facilities, and an amazing array of free activities for students to participate in. If you are looking to study spanish abroad, Expanish is where it is at!

Excellent!

I would highly recommend Expanish to people of all ages and cultures. The staff have been really friendly and helpful from the very start, and the teachers are warm and welcoming. The content used in class is varied and engaging, and I can really feel my Spanish coming along after only a couple of weeks! There's also a nice range of activities to get involved in in the afternoons, most of which are free, and the school is in a great location for venturing off after class. If you want to master castellano whilst learning all about life as a porteño, this is the place for you!

Very positive language-learning experience with lots of fun

The learning methods were great: games, role plays and even preparing a typical argentine dessert in class to learn the imperative. My teacher always managed to motivate each and every one of us. He also encouraged and enabled us to speak as much spanish as possible during class. My very personal huge learning effect thanks to his method was that I finally after two years of trying managed to do "la erre".

The overall organisation of the language course was very good. The school was very helpful and super flexible at finding me a suitbale accommodation. The next day I already could move in. I felt very well looked after.

What would you improve about this program?
I would change the chairs in the classrooms. They are chairs and tables in one, but due to high usage the tables are not always very stable.
