Master of Design (MDes) Interaction Design

Video and Photos

Interaction Design specialism is directed at students with a passion for people and interactive technology. Students learn to shape how information is accessed and used, how environments might change based on user needs, and how information can be embedded in products. Students also learn to describe human thought patterns and habits and use this information to design innovative interactive ideas.

The specialism seeks to achieve these aims by learning about:
• learning interaction design tools, techniques, and processes
• design research methods
• concept creation techniques
• embedded and tangible technologies
• prototyping and scripting skills
• information architecture

  • A studio based programme joins theory and action, a combination of theory, planning strategies, research, and technical skills
  • In line with the School's human centred critical approach to design
  • For students with a passion for people and technology
  • Duration of study: 12 month
  • One of the earliest Interaction Design degree programmes in Asia, launched in 2007
