About Program
In this Maymester program, students will experience a unique opportunity to explore the function and structure of health in the Northern portion of the Dominican Republic. Students will assist in the development and implementation of health promotion and prevention activities that focus on quality of life metrics and community health strengths, challenges, threats, and opportunities. Understanding cultural values and beliefs related to health and working as part of interdisciplinary teams will also be part of the student's experiences. This program is open to all, but may be of benefit for those in public health, health science, health education, nursing and related fields.
