About Program

In this summer school, students receive an introduction to established and cutting-edge methods and processes of product innovation and development design methodology and product lifecycle management.

Theory taught in the lecture will be applied in hands-on workshops featuring the analysis and improvement of a real life product. Students will learn how to carry out market research, identify and evaluate requirements, set up functions and their structures and to derive and vary concepts for product innovations. These concepts will be transferred into a suitable embodiment design using conventional and agile methods including rapid prototyping technologies.

The RWTH International Academy works closely together with the International Office and the Institute for Engineering Design of the RWTH Aachen University to offer a perfect mix of technical study and cultural experience.

Yes, I recommend this program

The greatest experience of my life so far

My experience at RWTH International Academy was just awesome! I had never been part of such as amazing institute before. We were able to get to know some of the German culture, the student lifestyle (which I think is so great in Aachen), their food, their incredible architecture and all the beautiful landscapes that such as cozy place as Aachen and Germany itself offer. The staff is so friendly and supportive, they planned many fun activities for us like tours, a soccer match, a day for cooking at our German buddies and others.
Besides, the academic part was really good structured, all activities were meaningful and effective for our learning. Professors and lectures were top; that was something I really appreciate because in every lecture when I would look at the professors the only thing I could think about was that I dream to be as a great professional as they are. Also, something I totally highlight is that technology was well implemented in the course; we had all the resources to redesign a product and then 3D print it for our final project.
All in all, I absolutely recommend this experience to anyone, it is fun, it is meaningful and you will never regret.
PS: Actually, My experience was that awesome that my dream is coming back Aachen to do my master's degree.

What would you improve about this program?
Well, I consider the only little problem we had was that the internet connection was not so fast at the boarding house.
