The Ashoka Experience

Being at Ashoka was an incredible experience. I learnt so much about different intellectual fields of study. The faculty and the staff are extremely accomodating and helpful. The people here at Ashoka make you feel very welcomed and accepted. My advice would be to interact with the professors as much as possible and interacting with the students to form a larger network. Small tip would be to prepare for the weather and pack accordingly. But overall, if you're looking for a study abroad experience, don't hesitate and just apply.

Joy

I had a lovely time studying a variety of courses. The teaching faculty really care about the students' learning and help with any issues related to the course content and beyond. I particularly enjoyed the performing arts course about Sanskrit plays where we not only read them, but explored the related dance and music and put up an act at the end of the semester. I had such a joyful time not only inside the classes but even outside through different club events and activities. The people of Ashoka are definitely the best part of the experience.

Beautiful Programme

Ashoka's environment, people and programme are three of its highlights. You'll find people with similar interests, there's room for every research under the sky. Also because Delhi is so close by, if you need a break from the academic routine, it takes very little effort to gather a few friends and head out. Whether you want to spend a Saturday exploring the chaotic, historic streets of Old Delhi or just need a change of scenery for a Sunday lunch, the proximity to the city acts as a perfect release valve. You get the focus of a dedicated campus without sacrificing the energy of the city.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Come with an open mind! Be ready to face a dynamic weather and try carrying a camera :)

Amazing

The university is world class and I enjoyed all my classesss. I loved particularly my history classess, the professor genujnely wowed me, in addition to that, literature department was amazing too, we learnt about different texts and we also did a field trip to delhi. I also had got a chance to do a archaeological course and I loved every Friday morning when we went to different archaeological sites and professors explained everything in so much detail, plus she was so coooll. My peers were amazing too, they always asked the most intellectually stimulating questions and I loved my university experience for that. I got to learn a lot while I had so much fun.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
Nothing, I loved every bit of it

100% recommended

The liberal arts curriculum is genuinely world class, classes are small, discussion driven, and taught by brilliant professors from all over the world who challenge you to think critically. I always felt welcomed by the tight knit student community with our late night Dhaba chats and campus fests were unforgettable. The campus is modern, safe, and has great sports facilities. Plus, the free shuttle to Delhi makes weekend exploring super easy. If you want top tier academics and a true taste of India, go to Ashoka.

An Experience of a Lifetime

I had an amazing time during my semester at Ashoka. I was able to take very different courses from different disciplines and further explore my interests. The classes were also unique and interactive with a focus on critical thinking. Campus events are truly an experience, along with plenty of sports activities available to participate in. The top-notch infrastructure and residential campus meant that I didn't have to worry about accommodation at all. I am grateful to have had the chance to experience this and visit India. 10/10 recommended.
