Adventures in Edinburgh

My experience with CIEE was absolutely amazing. The staff was very supportive and made me feel very welcome in the city of Edinburgh. The accommodations were spectacular and it was a great group of people to travel with. It has been such a highlight to explore new places and I really gained a lot of independence based life skills while never feeling panicked. The support system made it easy to explore without ever feeling like I was in a scary situation. It was a really great way to grow as an individual.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Do not let the homesickness stop you from enjoying the experience! It goes by so quickly and you will be home before you know it. Don’t spend the whole time wishing you were home because there will be a time when you are home and wishing you were back where you traveled.
Pros
  • A group to make it less daunting to travel
  • A class to really enrich the experience of the city
  • Getting to live somewhere new
Cons
  • Class structure can make it hard to travel elsewhere
