Helpful and supportive throughout

TEIC were very helpful throughout this whole process. In spite of the constantly changing requirements due to the pandemic, Arnold was always available and willing to offer assistance and guidance whenever I had questions about the interview process, document legalization, visas, flights and so on. As well as the help he was personally able to offer, he also invited me to join several WeChat groups which provided valuable insight into the green code maze. He has continued to provide support now that I am in China. If you're thinking of teaching English in China, I thoroughly recommend using their services.

Pros
  • Support throughout the interview process
  • Help with paperwork and green codes
  • Zoom meetings with other teachers

Friendly, professional and reliable.

My China experience came out of nowhere. As I approached the end of University I wondered what to do next. The GoOverseas team gave me an opportunity I will never forget. The networking opportunities from then on has put me in contact with people all over China, giving me opportunities to explore, seek, travel and grow both professionally and personally.
Alongside the team’s connectivity and helpfulness comes a reassurance in these current times. Arnold has reached out regularly to ensure that I and other teachers are safe and well during these times. This has always been reassuring.

Pros
  • Professional networking
  • No day is the same
  • Memories for a lifetime
Cons
  • Missing home due to pandemic
  • China’s unpredictable COVID policy

One of the best experiences of my life

Teaching English in China was an experience I will never forget!! When I was in my first year of University, I applied for the teach English in China summer programme which was 2 weeks of teaching at a summer camp in China. The application experience was very straight forward and I felt as if I could be 100% myself when sharing my experience and ideas. After being selected for the program, there was an orientation day where I met the people I would be working alongside which was very beneficial as I was able to travel with some of them and you felt like you were not alone in the process. The actual experience of teaching at first was a little daunting but as soon as you start, it is so rewarding to feel like you are capable of teaching. Seeing the children progress and enjoy the classes was the highlight for me. As well as this, you have plenty time to explore your surroundings after work.
I would really recommend this program for anyone who struggles with confidence or is looking for something new to self develop. I found that while I was teaching I was really able to let go of past anxieties and stress. It's also a very good way to discover a new culture and you just might want to return. After visiting China, I started studying international business and Chinese at University because i was so fascinated with the language and culture.

Pros
  • Excellent Support
  • Great value for money
  • Brilliant location
Cons
  • Wifi in school was the best

Teach English in China Review

I took part in the programme a couple years ago, and I still think fondly of my time teaching in China. It was a joy to teach the children and experience the culture. The staff were friendly and I had lots of fun. In terms of facilities we stayed at a nice hotel nearby, lunches were provided, and we had an air conditioned staff room for break times. Mid-week we put on a show for the kids, and I remember all of us sang a Bruno Mars song. On the weekends there are a lot of beautiful places to visit. I would recommend to anyone to take part.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
My first class, a class size of over 50 kids, felt daunting at first. My teaching assistant greatly helped me overcome every obstacle. She was very helpful, and I am very grateful to her.

Highly Recommend

Going to China through Impact Teaching was definitely a great decision. You are always supported by the company, even when you move on from the placement. The application process is simple, and the help that you get during the visa process from both Impact Teaching and your school is invaluable, as it isn't always easy. During the training, you get to meet some great people that will become close friends, giving you more opportunities to travel around China. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to move abroad to teach.

Would definitely recommend Impact Teaching

Impact Teaching have been absolutely great in helping me get a teaching job in China. The company has been excellent in providing support and guidance both before getting to China and now that I'm here. Securing a position and a working visa would have been 100x more difficult without all their help and so I would definitely recommend Impact Teaching to anyone who is thinking of taking the plunge and moving to China.

Doing the TEFL training programme also meant that I have a large network of friends all over the country which is great for when I want to go travelling.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
The most nerve-racking moment was stepping into my own classroom for the first time and standing in front of 40 Chinese kids.
I managed to overcome this by using the ice breaker activities I learned during my TEFL training to get to know and engage with the students

Excellent service

They successfully found me a job 3 times over the years in China and have always helped me throughout my time here (even during the pandemic). If your looking for a job overseas I strongly recommend this company.

They have been honest throughout (won't sugarcoat or exaggerate the experience/job) fair and always available to help!

I also recommend trying an experience abroad, its rewarding and great fun. Lots to learn and experience. This company will be super helpful in making your experience go smoothly and find you an excellent job.

Teach English In China Program 2018-2019

I joined Teach English In China as a undergraduate who had just finished university in the summer of 2018. The program was excellent as it placed me with a teaching company in Shanghai, China and supported me in the entire process of getting a working visa and moving abroad. As someone who is still living in Shanghai currently, I have Teach English In China to thank for giving me this opportunity and allowing me to move across the world to teach in China. I would highly recommend this program to anyone who is interested in living and working abroad in a new and different environment.
