Japan-U.S. Teacher Exchange Program for ESD

A joint program between Fulbright Japan and the Institute of International Education (IIE), the Japan-U.S. Teacher Exchange Program for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) provides 24 U.S. administrators and teachers with the chance learn about ESD through an exchange between Japan and the US. The program sets out to strengthen ESD curriculums in both countries, as defined by UNESCO as “a vision of education that seeks to balance human and economic well-being with cultural traditions and respect for the earth’s natural resources”. The program is fully arranged and funded by the organizations.
