Great experience with Jay

I had the pleasure of working with Jay, and I cannot express enough how incredibly helpful he was throughout the entire process of finding a suitable school. From the very beginning, Jay's dedication and professionalism were evident. He took the time to understand my needs and preferences, ensuring that he had a clear picture of what I was looking for in a school. This personalized approach made a significant difference in the overall experience.

Jay's responsiveness was one of the most impressive aspects of his service. Whenever I had a question or needed clarification, he was always quick to respond. His prompt communication helped alleviate any anxieties I had about the process, making me feel supported every step of the way. Jay's ability to provide timely and accurate information was instrumental in helping me make informed decisions.

What stood out most was Jay's commitment to finding a school that met all my requirements. He didn't just provide a list of options; he carefully curated a selection of schools that aligned with my preferences and goals. This attention to detail demonstrated his thorough understanding of the educational landscape and his genuine interest in finding the best possible fit for me.

The entire process, which can often be stressful and overwhelming, was made smooth and enjoyable thanks to Jay's expertise. He handled all the intricate details, from initial consultations to finalizing arrangements, with the utmost efficiency. Jay's proactive approach meant that I never felt left in the dark; he kept me informed about every development, ensuring that I was comfortable and confident with each step forward.

Moreover, Jay's friendly and approachable demeanor made working with him a pleasant experience. He was patient and attentive, always willing to listen to my concerns and address them comprehensively. This level of personalized service is rare, and it made a world of difference in my journey to find the right school.

Each school he suggested had unique strengths that aligned with my needs, and his insights helped me see the potential in options I might not have considered otherwise. His ability to match my requirements with suitable schools was nothing short of impressive.

In addition to his professional acumen, Jay's genuine enthusiasm and passion for helping others succeed were palpable. He approached his work with a positive attitude and a sincere desire to make a difference. This infectious enthusiasm not only made the process more enjoyable but also instilled a sense of confidence in me, knowing that I was in capable hands.

In conclusion, Jay's exceptional support and guidance were invaluable in my search for the perfect school. His responsiveness, attention to detail, and personalized approach made the entire process smooth and enjoyable. I am incredibly grateful for Jay's help and would highly recommend his services to anyone in need of assistance with educational placements. Thank you, Jay, for all your help and for making this journey a positive and successful experience.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
My advice for future ESL teachers would be to pack towels😅 the towels are very small in store. You can find larger towels online (you have to first get an ARC card to shop online). Also DIASO, is amazing, you can find literally anything there and it’s cheap.
Pros
  • Many expats
  • Very safe
  • Food is really good
Cons
  • Getting a prepaid SIM card before you get an ARC card. (Expensive)
  • Recycling can be confusing but you can learn. I recommend getting a recycle bin from DIASO, it makes it easier.
  • Miscommunication

Jay - Ok Recruiting

I used Jay at Ok Recruiting in the summer of 2023 to find a job in Korea from overseas.
He was extremely helpful, professional and efficient.
He answered any questions or worries I had and was always willing to do everything he could to help.
He was available at nearly all times of day.
Even after arriving in Korea, he continued to make sure everything was okay in the following weeks after my arrival.
I highly recommend using him and would/will not hesitate to use him again in the future.
Excellent service!!!

Totally worth it!

At a certain point, I thought I would never make it to South Korea because of the many administrative hurdles I faced in my home country (mainly with obtaining my documents). Thankfully, OK's constant follow-ups, understanding, and patience with the process finally materialized with my arrival after a few months. Personally, I took this opportunity as a much-needed break from corporate culture and will use it to reevaluate my direction in life. So far, I believe it was the best decision for me, and I'm looking forward the the journey in my new teaching career.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I would definitely get the necessary documents in order before applying.

Returning to Korea

I reached out to the recruitment team after wanting to continue my journey in teaching.

Jay from OK Recruiting made my return to Korea smooth and easy. He was always available to reach, answered all my enquiries and acknowledged my preferences. The visa application process can be nerve-wracking but Jay made it feel like a walk in the park.

Because of this, I successfully returned to Korea and completed my first week at my new placement. I am very grateful for the brilliant service from the recruitment team.

I am thriving in my new environment, and I enthusiastically encourage others to consider using this platform for their professional endeavors. OkRecruiting, and particularly Jay Suh, have played a pivotal role in shaping this positive chapter of my career and life.

Sejong City ESL Teaching

I'm still new to everything but so far there are many places to eat just a few step out of my apartment building. Shops are all close by if you need anything, bigger shops you can easily take a bus ride to. People are kind and willing to help you if needed.

It is a small city so not many people will speak English so Google translate will be your best friend, it's also amazing at translating signs and food menus.

You will need a good winter coat, some gloves, and plenty of sweaters for the winter. I have not experienced summer here yet but I have been told it gets around 30 degrees Celsius .

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
I recommend you fly in a few days early to get adjusted to the time zone, recover from the flight, and have time to buy necessities before you begin your first day/training week.

Learning a few phrases or at least say hello and thank you in Korean can go a long way.

You will need a good winter coat, some gloves, and plenty of sweaters for the winter. I have not experienced summer here yet but I have been told it gets around 30 degrees Celsius .

You will need a translator app, especially if your in Sejong, not many people will be able to communicate in English.
Pros
  • shops and food are very close
  • people are very friendly and willing to help
Cons
  • Not many people speak English's in this smaller city so expect to have a translate app
