However, Ritmo do Mar is a thematic carnival that promote a social intervention based on cultural, ethical and sustainability values. Year-round, we organized workshops for orphanages and educational centers from various locations in the city of Rio Grande to make instruments and others props such as flags and costumes using recycled materials (debris, paper and natural glue).
During school period, workshops are also proposed In to several schools from Rio Grande in a long-term cycle of activities of environmental education, music education (divided in the making of instruments and percussion), artistic education and physical education, culminating in the many parades for each school. For allegories and props, children making and painting their allegories using recycled carapaces as a simple and inexpensive method for replicating allegories. Each participant makes his custom (a turtle carapace)!
