About Program
GoBrazil offers a free volunteering placement at its partner organization, Capoeira Therapy, in Maceió, Brazil. It is a therapy project where capoeira (a traditional sport in Brazil) is used as a therapy for patients with mental and physical disabilities. Capoeira is a mixture of marital art, game and dance and involves a lot of interaction with a partner - more mental than physical. Music also plays significant part in the practice. Playing musical instruments and singing complete this multi-dimensional therapy approach. The volunteering should be at least over a period of 1-3 months (maximum 6 months) and can be started immediately. Upon agreement later entry dates are also possible.
