About Program

Discover Costa Rica’s stunning landscapes while making a real difference in wildlife conservation. Split your time between caring for rescued animals like sloths, forest animals, and more, and protecting endangered sea turtles as they journey to the ocean.

You’ll work with trusted local partners on vital conservation efforts, from rehabilitating exotic animals to safeguarding sea turtle hatchlings. Your days will be filled with hands-on conservation efforts, but Costa Rica offers so much more. When you’re not volunteering, explore Costa Rica’s black-sand beaches, hike through lush rainforests, and visit active volcanoes.

With most of the logistics taken care of—including accommodation and support—you’ll focus on meaningful work and unforgettable adventures in one of the world’s most biodiverse countries.

Join fellow volunteers, experience Costa Rica’s vibrant culture, and leave knowing you’ve made a lasting impact on some of the planet’s most incredible creatures.

Program Impact

Costa Rica’s wildlife is under constant threat from human development, despite nearly 30% of the country being designated as national parkland. On this volunteer trip, you’ll help protect two of the country's most iconic creatures: sea turtles and sloths. During the Sea Turtle Conservation portion, you’ll patrol beaches at night, guiding turtles and hatchlings to safety and relocating nests when necessary. At the Sloth & Wildlife Sanctuary, you’ll care for and rehabilitate injured sloths and other wildlife, helping with feeding, enrichment, and environmental education. Through this dual-purpose experience, you’ll contribute to preserving Costa Rica’s rich biodiversity for future generations.
