Au Pair

I went through the global work and travel agency to help me with the whole process of becoming an Au Pair in France. Through this process I have different people helping me with different parts of the trip/process and all have been amazing. My Au Pair manager Julie-Anne I have had the lost contact with, she has been outstanding especially when bumps arise, she went above and beyond to help me with everything I’ve needed to do in this process so far. She has made this process as smooth as possible for me.

Pros
  • The independence
  • Feeling safe with the agency

Au Pair in Milan (June 2022 - June 2023)

I have had the best time Au Pairing in Milan, I'm excited to do another one! My host family was perfectly matched with me, and we've had such a lovely, stress-free and special time together. They have been so welcoming and flexible, I have learnt and seen so much! I've managed to see 15 new countries and many more fabulous cities. I couldn't have asked for a better host family and experience! I had the days off (when the child was at school) so I have been able to complete a year of my degree too which has been amazing. I've met the nicest people and made friends for life which I'm so grateful for.

Pros
  • Live in a new city and get to know a family
  • Travel
  • Have spare time to explore/study/meet people

Maddi Global Trip

Maria was such an amazing help with my trip to Canada. This was my first trip overseas and Maria really helped with everything from my worries/concerns to making sure I get the job I really wanted to experience whilst here. She was in constant communication with me which was nice and never made me feel like a burden when I asked one of my many questions.

Since arriving to Canada, I've been to orientation and Mark was great! He made the place feel safe and exciting and was happy to answer any questions.

Pros
  • Great workers
  • Amazing job opportunities

carlie

the presentation by mark was very informative, he made it interactive and fun. left it open for questions at the end and room for chats by everyone.

getting into canada was very easy going and not as hard as i thought it was going to be but after that the limousine service was awful. it was hard to find the driver as he was waiting in the car and a hassle once we did find him. not being able to check into the hotel after being on nearly a 14 hour flight was not ideal but the hostel itself was accommodating and tried to have the room cleared early.

global work and travel and brianna herself, has been very helpful though.

Pros
  • job security
  • accommodation
  • staff always available
Cons
  • constant emails
  • elfies limousine service
  • not being able to check into the hotel after a 13 hour flight

Calum Fisher

Job Title
Trip Coordinator
Calum is a trip coordinator with Global Work and Travel and helps people plan their adventures overseas. He has been with the company for nearly 4 years and has worked on 100 different trips across 27 destinations.

He has been to around 15 countries himself and is always on the look out for a new destination to tick off the bucket list.

What is your favorite travel memory?

In April 2022, I got the chance to go to Costa Rica for 2 weeks. My mind was completely blown with the amazing beaches, forests, animals and people. My favourite location was Tamarindo. Growing up near the beach myself, it was fantastic to see such a beautiful place with palm trees and soft sand.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

100%. I've become more confident as a person. I've had the opportunity to work with great colleagues who push and challenge me to be a better coordinator. I also reaffirmed my love for helping people. I've also become more independent and feel valued as a colleague with fun events together. Best company I've worked for.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

I received some photos from a traveller in Thailand. It was great to see how much fun they were having and all the new friends they had made. You get reminded as why we do what we do. Its fantastic to see the work you've put in become a real persons new life and its extremely rewarding. Especially if they have been nervous or unsure before they have left.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I would love to do the trunks and tails program. Thailand is a country that has always been on my bucket list. The fact that you get to work with elephants in their natural habitat, feed and watch them interact with each other is fantastic. You also have rescue paws included which is a street dog rescue charity. I'm a massive dog lover so this is right up my street.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

I love the service we provide. We always go that extra mile to make sure a travellers trip is the best they've ever had. Theres so many different options too so theres something for everyone, whether its working on a bar on a island resort in Australia or being an au pair in france to volunteering with the elephants in Thailand, theres so much choice.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I feel we've been amazing at adapting to the economic climate. COVID put the brakes on travel for such a long time but our CEO and team managed to navigate us through really difficult and unknown time. I have faith and reassurance that we're heading in the right direction and I'm really excited to see what the future holds.
