Being a volunteer for the Turtle & Sloth Conservation Program in Costa Rica, you'll be working alongside the local staff who are already engaged in saving the lives of these animals. Over the last few years, there has been a massive decline in the number of turtles and now, they are on the endangered species list. If we don't act now, we might lose these animals forever.
Volunteers in the Childcare Program work in child care centers, orphanages, community child care centers, community soup kitchens, and daycare centers` in Santa Barbara De Heredia. Due to a regular and consistent migration of people from nearby poor countries such as Guatemala, there has been an increase in poverty and homeless people. The Orphanages and child care centers support and protect the homeless children and also those who are underfed and malnourished.
Volunteer in the Teaching English Program to teach English to primary and middle school students in schools, community centers as well as orphanages. Learning English is very important for students with an increase in tourism in the country and the emergence of Costa Rica as a popular destination.
