About Program

For One World, a US-based nonprofit organization, is seeking volunteers who are interested in teaching at the Ayi Owen International School in Techiman, Ghana, West Africa. This is an excellent opportunity to gain international experience teaching in English at an innovative school in a developing country.

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.

Yes, I recommend this program

Highly recommended summer experience for college students

The two months I spent at the Ayi Owen International School in Ghana were incredible. The experience was absolutely inspiring, enlightening and unforgettable. I would suggest this program to undergrad college students who are interested in global relations, education, international development or other similar fields. It's perfect for those want a real hands on experience to make an impact on the ground in ways that you couldn't with a larger organization. Highly recommend applying for this program!
