About Program
Our Montserrat site boasts both a marine and terrestrial site so you can choose to do either or both!
Marine volunteers: After training up to Advanced Open Water you will learn how to identify our target species, and spend your days surveying the beautiful clear waters of the Caribbean, whilst looking out for rays, turtles, sharks and whales!
Terrestrial volunteers: Become adept in the identification and surveying of birds, amphibians, reptiles and plants and put your knowledge to the test whilst conducting surveys in the Centre Hills.
Montserrat used to be one of the most affluent countries in the Caribbean until there were two volcanic eruptions. The government is trying to rebuild and have large development plans for the island. We have been asked to survey the jungle and reefs and implement management plans so that the development can be done in a way that won’t harm the key natural areas of the island. This is your chance to contribute to that goal.
