Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.

Yes, I recommend this program

Feel good, have fun!

The program was a perfect blend of service and fun. Painted a community mural featuring and supporting local charities, did a community "clean up" day. Lots of service opportunities involving children - so gratifying and uplifting. The staff are helpful, kind and fun. There were lots of activities to do in the little mountain town - hot springs, horseback riding, hiking the volcano. Lots of backpackers and ecotourists around - made for fun times at local watering holes. Accommodations are clean and comfortable. I highly recommend a service vacation with the wonderful organization in this gem of a town.
