About Program
The International Marine Volunteer program offers individuals from all over the world, the opportunity to experience unique marine related projects in the biodiversity rich environment of the Great Dyer Island area, Gansbaai, South Africa. Volunteering aboard the vessels of our tourism partners, Marine Dynamics Shark Tours and Dyer Island Cruises, offers the chance the gain exposure to various marine species, including but not limited to the great white shark, southern right whale (seasonal), dolphins and many marine bird species such as the endangered African penguin. On board each trip, is a marine biologist who educates volunteers and clients, increasing their knowledge of the target specie and ecology of the area. Together with our conservation partner, Dyer Island Conservation Trust, volunteers get the opportunity to partake in data capturing and long-term volunteers get to be more involved in research activities.
