Program Impact
Africa is one of the world’s few remaining untamed regions, but both its landscapes and wildlife are increasingly at risk due to human exploitation. In South Africa, many rhinos have had their horns removed by conservationists to protect them from poachers, who target them for illegal trade and often leave the animals to die.
While you won't be chasing poachers, you’ll contribute by tracking and monitoring animal populations like rhinos, helping to assess the success of conservation efforts and protect these species for future generations. The work includes activities like lion tracking, wilderness patrols, and tree planting, all aimed at preserving wildlife and habitats. This is your chance to make a real difference.
And here’s what you’ll be doing:
Lion tracking and monitoring
Wilderness trail walks and patrols
Game drives and counts
Game captures
Fence patrols
Building and maintaining wildlife structures
Fauna and flora work in the nursery
Removal of alien vegetation
It’s a hands-on, unforgettable experience to follow herds and play a part in safeguarding Africa’s majestic wildlife.
