About Program
Travelteer Medical Electives work in partnership with both government and private hospitals in Sri Lanka.
As one of the busiest medical environments in the world, Sri Lanka's healthcare system is made directly accessible to medical students through this programme. Alongside Sri Lankan and foreign medical students, students will have the opportunity to work in specific departments in various healthcare settings.
Learn directly from doctors in Sri Lankan hospitals - this is a great opportunity for volunteers to gain an understanding of the healthcare systems in Asia. Volunteers will have the opportunity to shadow consultants throughout clinics, surgery lists and ward rounds. Our medical administrator will rotate volunteers through different hospital departments for a broad range of experiences - Sri Lankan private hospitals provide a structured observational and informative approach, giving real insight into private medical facilities in Asia.

Program Highlights
- Private Hospital: Our medical administrator will rotate volunteers among various hospital departments to give them a wide range of experiences and demonstrate their in-depth understanding of private healthcare in Asia.
- Government Hospital: Volunteer positions in government hospitals will only be observational; they will involve learning from physicians and other healthcare professionals by attending consultations and procedures.
- Health Clinic: Travelteer collaborates with local physicians to establish "pop up" clinics that give remote and underserved communities access to fundamental medical care.
