About Program

Volunteers play a huge impact in building and renovating schools in Zanzibar. This is our largest and most impactful project in Zanzibar.

By participating in this project, volunteers can assist with a range of tasks designed to improve the infrastructure of schools and community spaces. This helps support learning, development and basic services within Zanzibar. Volunteers will be able to see the physical results of their efforts and make a lasting impact on the community for years to come.

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.
