At INTRO our commitment to a sustainable future is a key principle, and the driving force behind our Small Change initiative, which we launched in 2017.

As part of our goal to make a real positive impact to the environment, we partnered with Eden Reforestation Projects in 2019 to plant 10 trees for every booking we received. And as a result we’ve planted tens of thousands of trees, aided reforestation, rehabilitated wildlife and reduced poverty in multiple local communities.

However we wanted to go even further and achieve true sustainability, so in late 2023 we began a new partnership with Path Net Zero to accurately measure our tours emissions, and Veritree to plant trees to offset those emissions.

We are now very proud to say that every INTRO tour is 100% carbon neutral.

What a fantastic 9 days I had exploring Sydney with a fantastic leader, Tom! From the get home he calmed your nerves and even when you left for your onward travels! The first week was so fun and exciting from the jet boating to the good nights out Tom never failed to get everyone involved even with the big group we had, if you get Tom as a leader your in for a really good time! If you had any question even after the trip had ended he was right there answering it and putting your thoughts at ease!

What would you improve about this program?

Could not fault the program at all, such a good tour to start your adventure off!

Awesome tours, 100% recommend using to anybody, new and experienced travellers alike. Will, Fiona and Caitlin were all exceptional as tour leaders. Was a fantastic way to meet new people who were like-minded. Helped in all regards of travelling and being able to stay in Australia. This included all the boring paper work i.e medicare and banks so that you didn't have too. This made the whole experience much easier and less stressful. The amount of value you get from this tour is unmatched in my opinion.

IntroTravel took all the stress out of organising my traveling experience. They helped organise my flights, finances, visa. When arriving in Australia the team picked me up from the airport and drove me to the hostel to meet the other travellers who booked through Intro. For the next 2 weeks we were taken on amazing days & nights out in Sydney & around New South Wales. Booking with Intro Travel took some of the stress out of meeting new people & making friends as we were already together in a big group.

Overall intro provided me with an amazing 2 week experience and helped me set up for my future travels from there. Definitely recommend.

What would you improve about this program?

Only think I could say could possibly be improved it making it longer!!!

Would definitely recommend intro travel for anyone travelling solo. I went with oz intro as i was travelling to australia on my own and was one of the best weeks, met wicked people i’m friends with now over a year later here in aus. My tour guide Tom was wicked👏🏻 would deffo try intro travel again in another country!! Ive already got a deposit down for bali intro ready for when the boarders open up again and things are back to normal. Intro travel respond really quickly too i had about 1000000 questions before flying solo and they were so supportive!

What was your funniest moment?

Burying our group leader in the sand and throwing bread at them so the seagulls landed on them 😂

When I came to Australia I’d already done a couple of intro tours in previous years and so had high hopes for the Australia tour. I’m so happy to say it met all my expectations and more! Loved the itinerary with my favourite part being sailing around the harbour on a beautiful catamaran and also spending the day at the beaches in Sydney having a bbq and the amazing coastal walk. I was taken care of from the second I landed and anything I needed the help was always available. Would definitely do it again next time I go to Australia!

This tour is literally what set us up for life in aus. They take care of your visa, Medicare, tax file number, bank account, mobile phone/ oz number, help with jobs, cv, onward travel after the tour. Literally everything you need to get set up for a life here. Our intro leader was Tom and he is literally amazing at what he does. We were clueless about what to do after intro but he sits down with you and helps you get a plan together. Anytime you need intro for advice or help you literally just email or call them, or go to the office and you’re always greeted by a friendly face and WiFi! They collect your post for you too. I cannot recommend this trip highly enough to anyone wanting to come to Australia. Oz Intro gives you a sense of security and a ‘base’. You’ll also meet friends for life on the tour and new people to continue travelling with, which I found a massive benefit rather then travelling solo as a young woman. The trips on the tour are just unforgettable. Every single day is an adventure. Cannot recommend this enough! I’ve done 2 of their tours now and wouldn’t use another company! Shoutout to Tom for being the best tour leader and pal!! 😊😊

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?

Pet a kangaroo! I thought maybe we would see some in the wild or something but never imagined we’d get to see one up close in Port Stephens!!

I’d recommend the whole thing. It’s a really good way of introducing yourself to Australia without any stress. The activities are also really fun and really well planned. You fit a lot of fun into a short amount of time. They then help you plan the rest of your travels so you don’t have to worry about it. The staff are all really friendly and very helpful. It is probably one of the best ways to start your time in Australia if you are unsure of anything. Great for couples, friends and solo travelers.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?

If you’re thinking about travelling, don’t even hesitate. Just do it! You won’t regret it.

Upon moving solo to Sydney I was extremely nervous and wasn’t too sure what to expect, but joining the Oz Intro group was the best decision I could have made! The team couldn’t have looked after me anymore, they helped set me up with everything I needed to start my new life overseas whilst having the best time with all the activities and trips throughout the week. I couldn’t recommend them enough and shout out to Lucas as I was in his first group and he smashed it! A must do when moving to Australia!

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?

Meeting the people in my group, but you become such good friends in no time!

What is your favorite travel memory?

In the spring of 2014, I traveled to Iceland with my best friend. The trip was full of pinch yourself moments, from walking between two active tectonic plates - with one hand on Europe and the other on North America -, to trekking up a glacier on an active volcano, to witnessing giant icebergs floating out to sea while a pod of orcas hunted seals off the beach. Each day was uniquely incredible.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

At Intro Travel, we live by our #smallchange initiative. Our goal is to make a positive change in each country we operate in by protecting the environment, supporting local communities, protecting animal welfare, and supporting cultural exchange and education. My professional background is in the energy industry, so working for Intro Travel has completely changed my attitude to the environment. I've given up my car, avoid single-use plastics, recycle as much as I can, and try to shop local wherever possible.

In terms of personal growth, the most important changes I have made are living in the moment and appreciating the small things. Whether it's sailing around Sydney harbour on a beautiful Australian summer day, or the smile your local barista gives you as you walk in. Taking time to enjoy and appreciate these moments can change your entire outlook on life.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

The best travel story I know of isn't immediately obvious. It doesn't involve beautiful sunsets up volcanoes or exhilarating skydives over the Great Barrier Reef. It's about a girl who was the quietest member of one of our groups about a year ago. She was shy and unsure of herself and didn't have the best life at home, but she bravely made the decision to travel around Australia and booked on to Oz Intro. By the end of the trip, she had made a great bunch of friends and headed off on a 2-month trip backpacking the east coast.

One year later, she has a partner, a job she loves, an apartment overlooking the beach, and is one of the most confident, friendly and sociable people you could ever hope to meet. She is a shining example of why anyone who is lucky enough to be able to travel should seize the opportunity with both hands. Stories like hers are why we do this job.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I would love to go on the Japan Intro tour! Japan is a country that excites me for so many reasons. It is 100 years in the future and 1000 years in the past at the same time. I would love to experience the ultra-modern cities of Tokyo and Osaka, where you can buy a bowl of ramen or a pair of sushi-socks from a vending machine, or watch a robot prepare a 3-course meal and make cocktails.

It would also be incredible to stay in a 1000-year-old monastery and meditate to the sound of the monks doing their morning prayers. I love spending time outdoors, so hiking up into the mountains and seeing the snow monkeys bathing in the onsens would be incredible! Who knows, I might even be brave enough to get in myself.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

We are not just here to make sure you have an awesome time while on the trip, we are here to support you for your entire time in Australia. If you need help finding employment 2 months after the trip ends, we are here to help with a dedicated jobs' board and expert advice on how to build a great CV. I am especially proud of my team when I bump into a previous group member on the street and they proudly announce they have an awesome job and are living their best life Down Under! Knowing that our team helped to make that possible is an incredible feeling.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I think that to have a successful company you need to nail three main factors:

1. Being genuinely passionate about what you do
2. Having a great idea
3. Investing time and energy in your staff

You could have the greatest idea in the world, but if you don't pursue it with passion and determination, or you don't afford your staff the time and energy they deserve, then you probably won't succeed.
