Adventurous gap year program

I have done the summer quest and really enjoyed it. At Warriors I had to push myself both mentally and physically.
The activities were fun, but they could have been more challenging every now and then.
The positivity in any situation is one of the most important lessons i’ve learnt, and something I still think about every day.
You never know what you're doing the next day which is exciting and often a nice surprise. If you like adventure, nature and/or sports and want to improve yourself in any way, than Warriors offers a great gap year!

Pros
  • No phones
  • Positivity
  • Self development
Cons
  • Food
  • Beforehand to little information

My Journey

Warriors was an incredible experience for me. I came to realize that every single day has the potential to be filled with adventure, growth and purpose. A few days here felt like weeks have passed. Simply because we made something out of every day. We were constantly busy and up for new adventures. As a group we grow with every experience. We support, encourage and love each other like a big family.

Integrity, teamwork, responsibility, positive attitude as well as respect are core values which we learn to implement in our lives. I was inspired in so many different ways and recommend this program to anyone who is willing to stretch their comfort zone into new dimensions.

Pros
  • Diversity of people
  • Support and inspiration from the facilitators
  • Appreciation towards nature
Cons
  • Drama and Gossip
  • Reactions

The Programm was AMAZING!!!! I’m only seven weeks they managed to help me to get entire new mindset, show me a lot of opportunities and experience some of the best things I ever did and probably will do in my life!!! I can only recommend the program to everyone. It does not matter if you are into adventure or not, the profit you get it worth it. And getting out of your comfort zone can be exciting and awesome at times,
Trust me. Take the risk or loose the chance
Warriors provides a awesome service from booking till the program itself. I never felt alone or unsave There is always someone to talk to or someone who watches you. Yes,

Autumn Quest 2023

Warriors was the last programme of my gap year, and I think I saved the best for last.

Arriving I wasn’t really sure what to expect but I was welcomed with open arms. Not only from the facilitators but mainly from all the warriors from the first quest. Within the first week we felt like a family.

I’ll be honest, waking up early every morning and having your room looking pristine was a bit tough in the beginning but it’s good for making a routine and I know my parents are proud of me for making my bed.

The trips I went on went on were nothing but extraordinary: scuba diving in sodwana, swinging off a cliff, seeing elephants etc (and this is only one quest!)

There are also challenging moments, not only physically but also mentally, where you feel like you’re being pushed to your limits. But there was not one moment where I felt like I was in danger of unsafe and the continuous positivity from everyone is uplifting.

Thank you warriors for this amazing experience, I 100% recommend!!

Pros
  • Amazing activities
  • New family
  • The personal growth that I experienced
Cons
  • Expensive
  • Lack of communication

Autumn Quest 2023 - Ruby

Warriors had a fricking amazing atmosphere! It was different to what I expected but I had an awesome time.

Awesome things:
The rooms were top notch, super comfortable and provided a very happy place for me.
Food was amazing #fransforever.
I felt very emotionally and physically pushed which was my goal.
The Frisbee was so much fun!!!!
The dancing lessons were awesome!
The constant encouragement to stay positive and do things that are difficult is an amazing mindset that I will take with me throughout my life.
Made the most amazing friends for life!!
6.30am exercise even though it was difficult - this showed me that I can do anything I set my mind to!

Room for improvement:
I expected a lot more emotional/personal discussions (one-to-one and group) and we did none of that, besides a Clearing. I suppose 1st Quest is known to be focused on that but I would have loved it to be included throughout. It would have been so appreciated to get through the huge changes and challenges we go through. You could always go to an MAI or facilitator for help if you needed but planned activities would have been really nice and beneficial to all I think.
The lack of communication - every day was a mystery as to what we would be doing (most times we would only find out on the morning of), we got an average of 3 day notice before big trips. I know this may work for some people but I prefer to know what's ahead of me so I can mentally prepare. Arriving as a newbie in the 2nd quest, I was expected to learn almost everything about the camp, the rules and the staffs' roles from previous Warriors. This was confusing and slowed down the process of getting into the flow of things here.
The sexism in the higher leadership was very obvious. This upset me throughout the quest and made me lose a lot of respect for Warriors. I really expected an adolescent camp made for teaching us how to become better people and adults would be better than this. It was evident in some actions and very clear in comments made by a staff member.
I have been told that they're working on this so I really hope it improves.

For future participants:
Be prepared for a lot of strict rules you need to follow: the usual ones such as being on time but also some intense ones like colour coding your clothes. This takes getting used to.

I hope this review can help improve some of the aspects of Warriors to make it even better than it already is!

Pros
  • Pushing yourself outside your comfort zone
  • The facilitators
  • The rooms & facilities
Cons
  • Lack of communication

warriors review

This was the best thing I could've done for my son! If I had 10, all 10 would've done this program, that's for sure! Brandon had the time of his life, every day. He could not stop talking about everything they did. He changed into a man after the first quest, not to mention what happened after the second, third and fourth! Every time he came home, he just wanted to back, one day later. What does that tell you? I would seriously recommend this program to anyone in doubt! Well done Warriors, and thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!

Pros
  • cool people along the way and cool friends
  • cold stuff
Cons
  • no phones
