An unforgettable, unique, and highly educational experience; beyond just improving my English, I met so many incredible people, tried new things, and left all my preoccupations it is undoubtedly something I would do again, The chaperones were the best: they looked after us at all times, yet always gave us the freedom to experience everything to the fullest.
Volunteering was also a deeply educational experience; helping people—specifically children in need—was something truly beautiful for me, and I believe we all did it with a great deal of love.
The host mom was also always very attentive; she cared about what we ate and what we liked, and conversations with her were very welcoming and entertaining.

My experience

I had an amazing time at this summer camp while also getting some community service hours. I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone and would tell them to bring a couple of friends. The activities were very fun and we went sightseeing to so many different beautiful places. Costa Rica really is a one of a kind place and I’m grateful to Maximo Nivel for allowing me to experience it at its fullest. The host family food is also really good as well as the restaurants that they take you to. To conclude, I would recommend this to anyone.

Loved it !

I had a wonderful 2 weeks at the summer camp. I enjoyed discovering new cultures through the host families. The volunteer part was also rewarding seeing communities and helping them in Quépos and San Jose. The activities didn’t leave any time for boredom. I loved exploring Costa Rica’s beautiful nature with a bunch of visits. We did surfing, cooking classes, scuba diving and a lot more great activities! The group was also the perfect size with between 20-14 campers and was great for a warm atmosphere. I made friends I definitely have to visit. The staff was also professional and friendly. Would recommend to any teenager who likes travelling and meeting people! Loved it.

as a 15 year old plz take my word

i almost never write reviews, but maximo nivel is an exception. when my mom first told me i was going, i honestly did NOT want to go (i usually say no to everything lol). i expected it to just be another thing I had to do, but i lowkirkenuinely could not have been more wrong.

immediately when i arrived, the atmosphere was something i have never seen before (in a good way). The people there made it feel like more than just a language camp. Nico (the main counselor) had an incredible ability to connect with younger students; which is usually very hard to find. he understood us, treated us with respect, and made everyone feel comfortable. He didn’t just feel like a teacher—he felt like an older brother who genuinely cared about us.

i'll always remember the people I met there: Ben, Timmy, Brook S, Winter, Max, and so many others (if yall see this, hi). The friendships I made are something I will never forget. I normally don’t cry when saying goodbye—I usually just do an Irish exit and leave lol—but maximo nivel was different. when it was time to leave, I was genuinely crying because I realized how much this place and these people meant to me.

I came into this experience not wanting to go, and I left wishing I could stay SO much longer. maximo nivel gave me memories, friendships, and experiences that I will carry with me for a long time.

thank you Nico and Rosa, and thank you Maximo Nivel :)

Best time ever!!

I had so so so much fun with all of my friends and the counselors. Everyone was very friendly and open! I don’t think i’ll ever forget a trip like that. We visited so many beautiful places like the waterfalls and we saw a bunch of different animals in the wild!
It’s hard to put into words how much these two weeks meant to me. I’ll always look back on these two weeks with a huge smile. I truly hope I’ll get to see all of my friends and my counselors again one day day. Thank you so much for everything.

The Best week

As soon as stepped foot into the house, I was welcomed with people. I now call my best friends. I had a great time at this camp and I learned so many new things about the culture and the people and everything. I 100% recommend this Camp to anyone who is thinking of doing it I think it’s a great way to learn new things and create new bonds. I’m leaving this camp with so many new friends and so many new experiences. To anyone who might be nervous about coming to this camp alone, I can assure you that you will make friends right away and you won’t ever want to leave because of them.

So fun

This was such a fun experience and I’m so glad I did it. I did the Spanish classes and I feel like being immersed in the culture really helped me learn a lot faster. The teachers were really good and I feel really prepared for the following school year. I also met a lot of people and made a lot of friends. The environment and the counselors were super amazing and I would definitely recommend. It’s definitely not something that everybody gets to do and I’m so glad that I had the opportunity to experience it and meet people from around the world. I also had a lot of fun with the things that we did every day.

What was your funniest moment?
Definitely time with friends and counselors.

Great experience

This summer camp was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. I came here expecting to have a good time, but I left with so much more than that. I met incredible people from different parts of the world, made friendships I’ll never forget, and created memories that I’ll carry with me forever.

Every day was filled with fun activities, new experiences, and moments that pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best way possible. The staff and counselors were amazing, always supportive, welcoming, and genuinely dedicated to making sure everyone had an unforgettable experience.

What made this camp truly special wasn’t just the activities, it was the atmosphere. It felt like one big family where everyone looked out for each other, laughed together, and made every moment count. The two weeks went by way too fast, and saying goodbye was much harder than I ever imagined.

I’m incredibly grateful for everything this camp gave me. It helped me grow, meet amazing people, and create memories I’ll treasure for the rest of my life. I would recommend this experience to anyone without hesitation, and if I had the chance, I would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you for an unforgettable summer. ❤️

What was your funniest moment?
My funniest moment was probably all the bus rides with everyone. We were constantly laughing, singing, making jokes, and just enjoying every second together. Those rides turned into some of my favorite memories from the whole camp.
Pros
  • The staff and counselors were incredibly friendly and supportive.
  • The activities were fun, well organized, and there was always something exciting to do
  • I met amazing people from all over the world and made friendships I’ll never forget.
