Experience of a Lifetime!

I felt very comfortable studying abroad in a foreign city. Between my program advisor and work supervisor, I was able to adjust to living and working in Ireland pretty fast. My advisor hosted many events to educate me on the cultural history of Galway and introduced me to the social scene. My supervisor supported me in overcoming obstacles that appeared in my work and allowed me to flourish in my own work. I would highly recommend this program for anyone who is searching for a summer internship.

Pros
  • Was able to work on my own project for work.
  • Gave me freedom to explore Ireland and Europe with friends.
  • Got educated on cultural history of Ireland
Cons
  • The expenses that were had during the trip were more than anticipated, but worth it!

Interning in Galway!

Interning in Galway may have been the best decision I have made! The global experiences program made it very easy to set up interviews with host companies and land an internship that would most benefit my knowledge of my major and career outlooks. The program team was always ahead of the game, making sure travel paperwork and coaching calls were maintained in the months leading up to departure. The program was very helpful and friendly in my needs and what I wanted to accomplish whilst on the trip. Thanks GE!

Pros
  • Several cultural events
  • Beautiful accomodations
  • Practical Work Experience

Best experience abroad

I am so glad I chose Global Experiences (GE)! They leave no stone unturned in preparing you for success. My culinary employment was absolutely perfect! I was able to learn all aspects of culinary arts in an amazing establishment complete with an upscale grocer, wine cellar, delicatessen, cafe, butcher, catering, and fine dining. The accommodations were brand new and very nice. This program far exceeded my expectations. Dublin is easy to settle into. I felt very safe in this incredible international city.

I would highly recommend GE without any hesitation. I experienced numerous once in a lifetime moments and will forever have wonderful memories of GE, Heyday Student Living, Dublin, and Ireland.

Amazing!

Overall, my experience in Dublin was very positive. GE gave great support throughout the entire application and interview process. Once in Dublin, the move in was seamless and we were given the opportunity to meet everyone in the program casually. I really enjoyed my internship, which was exactly what I envisioned from the beginning. I got hands on experience and the opportunity to be fully immersed in the business world here, despite only being a junior in college. Other than the internship, GE organized so many activities which were spur of the moment or planned. My favorite was most likely the Belfast trip, where we got to do the Black Cab tour. Also, the scavenger hunt was so much fun and brought us to places in the city that we didn’t even know existed. My only issue with the program was the accommodation, which had great facilities. However, the administration there was very strict (they were encouraging a safe atmosphere) and made it seem as though we needed to check in for everything we did in the city. As the semester progressed, the accommodation only got stricter. However, it was in a great location and the rooms were brand new. Dublin is the most amazing city and GE made it possible for me to experience it.

What would you improve about this program?
The only thing that I would improve is the housing.

Dream Internship

I found Global Experiences while searching for an internship program to complete during my gap year. The program helped me especially in building my resume/cv as a young professional who had just graduated high school. Not only did GE help me prepare myself to be a professional through preparing my application and interview techniques, but they also connected me with a dream job. GE matched me with a company so perfectly, I would recommend to anyone seeking to gain professional experience to apply to GE. Three months is a short time for an internship and to be living in and exploring a new city so make sure you take advantage of every opportunity! Take advantage of GE's organized social events as well so that you have a base of peers and can easily explore the city you're based in.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Take advantage of being of your internship and living and working in a new city!

Greatest experience in my life!

I spent my fall semester interning in Dublin, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience! I developed so much both personally and professionally and feel that I have learned so much more about myself. I worked alongside some amazing professionals who allowed me opportunities to take on big projects and made me feel a part of a workplace community. The Global Experiences staff were always there to lend a helping hand if I needed anything. They also hosted some great events during the program, so there is always something going on and opportunities to interact with some of the other people in the program. The friendships and memories I made on this trip I will always cherish and it made it hard to leave Dublin behind. There are so many fun things to do in Dublin and Ireland and I loved every second of it.

Computer Engineering Summer Internship Dublin

I just finished my summer internship in Dublin through global experiences although I was skeptical at the start I found that Global Experiences did an amazing job pairing me up with an internship that fit my preferences. I worked for a tech startup in dublin and had the chance to contribute to the startup in many ways while also learning a ton from all of the employees and other interns. I did not live in the housing provided although I visited a few times and the housing seemed very nice and in central Dublin. The Dublin staff did a great job making sure I was enjoying my internship and providing me many opportunities to meet more of the students in the program through weekly social events. All around it was a great experience and I am very pleased with the experience I gained during my internship and the relationships I made.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I would go to more of the events that Global Experiences hosted. I made friends through my internship which took up most of my time but I still wish I had done more with the other students in my program and took part in more of the trips GE offered.

Global Experiences is the best overseas internship program around

From the second I decided to go abroad for my internship to when I got back from an amazing summer in Dublin, Global Experiences and their staff were extremely helpful, kind, and accommodating. I seriously can't thank them enough for everything they did. I interviewed with Andrew, who went above and beyond and really got to know me as a person and helped me figure out what was best for me. My Program Advisor was Sara, who was very organized and helped me complete everything on the pre-departure checklist with ease. My location coordinators were Lara and Hallie, who were on the ball all the time with any questions the attendees had. They were super approachable and easy to talk to as well. If you're having trouble choosing an internship abroad program, I would urge you to give GE a try. I promise you won't be disappointed with the level of service and attention you receive.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Get ready to say "Yes!" to more invitations. Dublin is a very lively city with so much to do, and you and your friends will likely want to try to check everything off the list.
