Job Description
English Teacher (Kids and Teens Centres)
You will teach EFL to students aged from 3 – 17 years. Your students are generally enthusiastic and fun loving, full of energy and ready to learn. We use a pre-defined internationally developed learning system with specified class content, but you need to prepare yourself for class and adapt materials to your groups' needs. It’s your responsibility to plan engaging classes with the relevant learning activities. You will have around ten groups, each with an average of 11-12 students.
You will get to know your students and watch them learn and grow. Students will vary in language ability and personality. There is no feeling quite like helping a shy student become a confident English speaker or a confident young adult converse fluently in English and get the grades they desire in school. You will work at one or two schools in one of our city locations: Moscow, St Petersburg or Novosibirsk and report to the Director of Studies. You need to be very flexible, adaptable, independent, and not easily stressed. You will need strong skills in customer service and building relationships, high expectations of yourself, deep respect of difference and diversity, creative approach to unusual circumstances and unexpected events. You demonstrate the highest standards of teaching English and look for ways to demonstrate your talent and help students to make real and fast progress in their English skills.
Most importantly, you take your commitment seriously and understand that students rely on you seeing your course through to the end once you accept it. If you have doubts or problems, you talk about them pro-actively with your manager.
Responsibilities
Present in school for 36 real hours (60 mins) every week of which on average each week up to 28 hours will be in-class teaching hours (60 mins).
Teaching learners aged 3-17;
Diagnostic testing, assessment and oral testing;
Extra-curricular teaching and non-teaching activities;
Participation in sales and promotions events;
Parent meetings;
Summer courses;
Lesson preparation;
Course admin in digital and hard-copy format;
Follow the EF pre-defined curriculum and teaching system;
Keep teacher room and resources in good condition;
Participation in trainings and teacher meetings;
Take responsibility for an area of work of the school;
Follow instructions from line manager;
Co-teaching and substitution for colleagues;
Teacher Observation and peer observation;

Requirements To Take Up A Post
• University Degree and professional teaching qualification and desirable minimum 1 year experience in teaching
• TEFL / TESOL certificate or equivalent
• Technologically advanced and IT competent
• Commitment to a minimum 10-month contract from August/September to June/July
• Copies of relevant certificates and references
• Valid visa - arranged by EF but pre-paid by you and reimbursable to you post-arrival by an expense claim (for which you will need to keep receipts within the pre-approved spending limits).
• HIV test certificate evidencing a negative status, (required by law in Russia), arranged and pre-paid by you and reimbursable to you post-arrival by an expense claim (for which you will need to keep receipts within the pre-approved spending limits)
• Agreement to undergo a background check
• Agreement to dress code and code of conduct
