Job Qualifications

  • Must hold a government Issued teaching license
  • Hold a Bachelors degree or above, preferrably in Education
  • None Education degree holders must also have other English teaching certificates in addition to a government issued teaching license
  • Must have experience in teaching English in high schools

  • Must be a Native English speaker, and be able to speak slowly and clearly

Company Description

17 public senior high schools in Taiwan are welcoming 17 foreign English teachers to join them in their English language teaching programs from February 2023- June 2024. Foreign English teachers will work closely with local teachers to improve the current English teaching methods. Job Description

Responsibilities:
1. Prepare lesson plans, teach English classes, and mark homework and exams.
2. Participate/ teach in English student clubs
3. Plan and promote English events and competitions
4. Work closely with local English teachers to find new ways of teaching English to Taiwanese high schoolers
5. Set learning goals, create outlined teaching plans, and carry out teaching plan evaluations
6. Make teaching aids and classroom decorations
7. Support the school’s English remedial programs and help students who are struggling with the English subject
8. Assist in other English teaching-related affairs within Taoyuan city
9. Foreign English teachers must write a monthly teaching plan, self-reflection letter, and self-evaluation report card.

Work Hours:
1. Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, lunchtime included
2. 20 classes per week, which may increase should the situation calls for it
3. Overtime teaching hours would be compensated by paid time off or $500 NTD for each extra class
4. During Winter and Summer breaks, teachers would work a minimum of 36 hours
5. During Winter and Summer breaks, new teaching goals and teaching plans will have to be set. Teachers will also have to help with winter/ summer camps and spend time creating other English teaching-related materials
6. Work days and teaching hours may be moved in accommodation to holidays and postponed classes
