ISM has three campuses, all situated in Quito the capital city of Ecuador. Quito is known as “the city of Eternal Spring” due to its mild temperatures, an average diurnal range of between 10c (50F) and 25c (77F). . This makes for a very good work climate, without needing the necessity of either air-conditioning or central heating.

Historical background of ISM
ISM was founded in 1976 by Mrs. Aída Montoya Romero, with the vision of making a difference in the lives of the children and young adults so that they could grow to help change Ecuadorian society in a positive way, which based on values and principles from the Bible. As the years went by the institution grew due to the high academic standards currently being achieved by the students, without setting aside the important ethics and values that help to form all young people. ISM graduates are able to choose the university courses most appropriate to their desires, be that within Ecuador or abroad. ISM has internationally recognized certifications such as: IB Program (MYP and DP), A Beka Book, ISO 9000, EFQM, amongst others.

In 2010 ISM developed its first program particularly designed for overseas teachers. One of the main objectives then, as now, is to let students benefit from a diverse staff, to be exposed to the cultural differences as well as the exposure to native English speakers as part of their mutilingual education.
The experiences that a teacher gleans from these programs will stay with them forever. The usual thrill of helping young minds to be formed into useful members of the community is combined with the natural awe encountered when exploring a new country.

What it takes to be a member of “The Teaching Excellence Team” JOB DESCRIPTION

ISM is currently hiring: Bilingual ElementarySchool (Bible, English, Science and Math), English and Science teachers for Middle School and English teachers for High School. The ISM methodology emphasizes “Interactive teaching methods” based on the belief that effective learning occurs when the combination of the teachers teaching properly and the learners being actively involved in the knowledge process, is present. The formation of good relations between the teaching staff and students whilst respecting boundaries is fundamental to effective learning. To be an effective teacher the values of integrity, organization, and being an effective time manager can never be under estimated. The teacher is an example for all the community. Well motivated teachers with a genuine interest in bicultural education will enjoy their experience working within ISM and have the opportunity to grow within the team. The ability to enthuse both the younger children and teenagers is something that not everybody is blessed with but “The Teaching Excellence Team” is full of people with this valuable gift.
