Job Description

Are you looking to teach outside the Tier 1 cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen. While the main cities in China are well known they barely scratch the surface of the location possibilities in this wide and diverse country.
Chinese cities are enormous, even the small ones are huge; these are no isolated back waters with none of the modern amenities and conveniences you would expect. They may not be the names you think of when thinking of China, but that doesn’t mean that Tier 2 cities lack the pace, cultural depth and enduring scope for discovery of any large city in China or for that matter the world.

Why choose a Tier 2 City?

1. Chinese Language Acquisition “you use it you learn it”
Tier 2 cities offer a complete immersive experience, both in terms of language and culture, than Tier 1 cities where it is easy to exist in the foreign bubble of bars, clubs and Western food secluded from the authentically Chinese adventure. If you want a unique understanding of the culture or you want to learn Chinese or expand the Chinese you have then Tier 2 cities provide you an excellent alternative to enrolling in a Chinese course, living in a Tier 2 city gives you the opportunity learn, survive and thrive day to day, and the necessity, to become a user of Mandarin on a daily basis.

2. Purchasing Power and Low Cost of Living
With the cost of living soaring in the major cities of China, rent, entertainment, and even grocery items can take a larger portion of your salary. Because of the low cost of living in smaller towns you will be amazed by how comfortably you can live and how strong your purchasing power is without the negative impact on your wallet of the bigger cities. Many of our teachers come to China with outstanding student loans, if this is you too, then the lower cost of living in Tier 2 cities provides you with ample savings with which you can reduce that debt.

3. Unique cuisine
Every region in China has its own delicious cuisine that is part of the local history. To truly understand Chinese culture is to embark on a culinary experience, and any local restaurant owner will be more than happy to be your chaperon. Dining in China is such a key to culture and also relationships that you’ll find you’ll be doing most of your cultural learning in the company of new, local friends.

4. Convenience and Transport
Living in Tier 2 cities has advantages over the larger more developed cities in China where buses are extremely overcrowded and taxis are sometimes (usually the times you need one ) hard to get. In smaller towns taxis are cheap and the bus services which you will rarely have to use are extensive and you can walk directly from your apartment to your school.

China has the largest high speed rail network in the world with almost every town in China connected, making intercity travel convenient and giving you affordable access to almost all of China’s top attractions at an affordable cost while enjoying premium class luxury travel.

Travelling by high speed train in China is truly a pleasure and allows you to see the country up close and cultural interactions within the train can give you a feel for the culture of Middle Kingdom

Come and see at ground level the tremendous changes that are always taking shape in the modern China and teach in a Tier 2 city with Aston English.
