Job Description

You are a media rockstar and a seasoned educator. You’ve mentored young adults in media and feel comfortable teaching video, photography, writing, and social media content creation. You are confident leading workshops and producing short-form documentaries.You enjoy experimenting in different mediums, from podcasts to talk shows to photo series to blog posts and more. You can manage a team as they discover and grow in their own media capabilities.

As the Director of the Media Lab, you will lead university aged students in a 10-week semester, guiding them through the creation of numerous media projects in an off-the-grid wilderness environment. Each week, there will be 5 hours of traditional education in the form of lecture or seminar based learning. For 15 hours each week, your students will serve an assistant role as you lead them in your own Kalu Yala based media project utilizing the experiential learning model. 10 hours are reserved for project management to facilitate your students pursuing their own media based independent projects.

Requirements:
3+ years working in multi-media including video, photography, and social media
Degree related to media, photography, marketing, or other relevant field
Strong planner who enjoys organization
Group leadership skills

Spanish speaker
Wilderness First Responder or other medical training
CPR certified
