Walking through Jinli Ancient Street right after was like stepping into another era, surrounded by traditional architecture, local food, and vibrant shops. The energy there was amazing, and it gave us a real sense of daily life in historical times.

People’s Park offered a completely different perspective. It was calm, authentic, and full of local life. Seeing people relaxing, playing games, and enjoying tea helped us understand the slower and more social side of Chengdu. In contrast, the Broad and Narrow Alleys were lively and full of character, blending tradition with modern influences in a really fascinating way. The Chengdu Museum also played an important role in our experience, allowing us to better understand the history, art, and evolution of the region through well-organized and engaging exhibitions.

One of the most memorable moments of the trip so far has been attending the Sichuan Opera. It was absolutely mesmerizing, with incredible performances, colorful costumes, and the famous face-changing technique that left us all amazed. It is definitely a highlight that I will always remember.

Even though we have already experienced so much, there are still many exciting visits ahead of us, including the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda, the ancient irrigation system, the Du Fu Thatched Cottage, and the excursion to Leshan. I am really looking forward to discovering these places, especially seeing the giant pandas and the famous Giant Buddha, which I am sure will make this journey even more incredible.

Overall, this study trip is already proving to be the perfect combination of education, cultural discovery, and personal growth. It is allowing us to learn in a completely different way, outside the classroom, through direct experience. Every moment so far has been meaningful, and I am excited for everything that is still to come. Everything was excellent—I really enjoyed my two weeks at KEATS Kunming. The teachers, staff, accommodation, classrooms, and food were all of a very high standard, and I learned a lot in a short time. The facilities are very practical and well organized. The dormitory, cafeteria, and classrooms are all in the same building, which makes daily life much easier. The location is excellent, close to public transportation, shopping malls, supermarkets, restaurants, cafés, and a hospital.
In addition, the school offers extra activities in the evenings and on weekends, such as trips to nearby cities, visiting local attractions, trying regional food, sports, and classes about Chinese culture (like tea ceremony and dance).
Kunming is an excellent city, the weather is really good, people are friendly and there are plenty of entertainment.

Studying Chinese at Keats is a great way to learn/improve your Chinese. Accommodation is basic yet clean and comfortable, and joining the evening activities was fun!
The teachers are really professional and experienced and help you find the right class for your level. Lessons were always professionally planned, also according to our individual language levels. So at the end my Chinese actually improved a lot.
Kunming is a great city to study: great weather, friendly people, good food! I loved it
