The classes are so well done and I am learning so much. It is so much fun and I get to use my free time from quarantine to learn a new language! I recommend these online classes as they are a great way to spend your free time and the teachers are fenomenal. You can also choose if you want to learn conversational spanish, grammar, etc.

Online Spanish Lessons

Becoming proficient in Spanish has been a goal for many years, so when my son told me Tico Lingo was offering online Zoom lessons, I jumped at the opportunity. My instructor, Ana Lorena, provides a combination of learning techniques, which makes the lessons both engaging and effective, and in just 6 short weeks, my Spanish comprehension and conversation has improved dramatically. Ana Lorena and the entire team at Tico Lingo has been just wonderful to work with - a bright spot in my week - and I look forward to taking my new skills out on the road. Thank you!

Spanish During Quarantine

I'm in quarantine at home with not much to do so I signed up for a 10 hour online Spanish program. I did a brief consultation with Yenifer who checked my Spanish level and gave me some schedule options. She was awesome! I was then assigned a Spanish teacher and given details on how to access the class. It was all pretty straightforward, and when I connected into my first class, the time flew by! I saw my Spanish abilities get better day over day. My teacher focused in on the areas I struggle with most and gave me plenty of material to keep me busy outside of class. I ended up buying another set of 30 hours and plan to keep at it until I can get down to Costa Rica and do an in-person program. It works, just do it.

Like A Vacation In Hard Times

Comprehensively good! Love working with prof and keeping my Spanish skills from rusting while I am social distancing at home. Tico lingo has everything organized well, I'm given material before and after class, via whatsapp in a PDF. Makes everything super easy. Classes go by quick and we spend a majority of time speaking which is what I was looking for. Actual practice. Speaking is the one thing I really can't practice with an app. Super glad to be using conversational skills and learning despite the distance barrier. Overall awesome experience, I'll keep at it until I can go back to check out Costa Rica again.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Getting conversation going again for the first time in a while! With covid affecting us I'm already alone a lot. What a nice break to escape and practice another language for awhile. I feel like I get to teleport to Costa for a few hours every week.

Online Classes with Zaida!

What a great time it is to work on your professional and personal development. For me, that was to continue improving my Spanish through online classes!

Tico Lingo Spanish teachers are well versed and have years of experiencing teaching beginner to advanced students. They are taking it to a new platform due to the recent developments. I have continued my studies with Zaida who is a joy to work with. When teaching Spanish-- her clarity, patience, and ease of explaining difficult grammar sets her apart. Besides her tour de force as a teacher, she is one of the sweetest and funnest people I've met. My Spanish level has gone from beginner to intermediate thanks to Zaida!

Spanish classes are conducted through Zoom and strictly in Spanish! We are able to work on exercises through the blackboard/screen sharing feature. I encourage everyone to support this small business and learn Spanish for work and for when we can travel again! I can't recommend Zaida enough!

Highly recommend Tico Lingo's online Spanish classes!!

I took classes with Tico Lingo at their school in Costa Rica and loved the experience. I learned a lot and was able to speak Spanish really well but haven't practiced in the past few months. Once I heard they were offering online classes, I signed up right away. It's so nice to reconnect with the fantastic people and brush the dust off my Spanish and start using it again. The face-to-face connection on zoom is great! I started at 2 hours a week and bumped up to 5 hours a week. Definitely recommend!

Fun and Rewarding!

My online experience has surprisingly been great! I was a bit skeptical about the whole virtual/online Spanish class thing, but am actually seeing my Spanish speaking skills accelerate way faster than when I was using online mobile apps. I really love working face to face with someone, hearing their native accent, conversing and having the opportunity to try out new vocabulary.. It makes a huge difference! I'll never go back to the robot voice of duolingo, FluentU or Rosetta stone. It's comforting to have someone on the other line that actually wants to see me progress. Making a new friend in different country, and learning a new language feels like a huge achievement, success, and distraction from the scary world of Covid-19 right now. HIGHLY recommend Tico Lingo! Big shout out and thanks to the whole team for a great experience!

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Having to speak to my Spanish professor in ALL Spanish. I wanted to badly to speak what I call "Spanglish" and only use a few words that I knew in Spanish, but my professor was very patient with me. Their continual encouragement and easy going laughter made it a safe space to stumble over words and pronounce the challenging sentences. I felt like the online course made it so I could go at my own pace, and after the call it felt like I had just traveled to another country.
