My only prior experience with the city has been day trips to Chicago, so I've been stunned by how much Everything is Everywhere! I've found amazing (and cheap!) local theater shows, which I recommend to all Spanish-learners, just by clicking around GoogleMaps. The farmers' markets are marvelous; blocks of fresh cheese for $5? Salted peanuts for $2? $1 avocados? Sí, por favor! Artisan fairs also darling: Barrio Italia's is stunning. Rode a double-decker bus to / from Valparaíso (a must-see). The tea is good, the pisco sour is better, and the boxed milk is fine if you don't drink it straight up!

Amazing program every which way. Consistent schedule, fabulous academics, great people, and wonderful travels- what could be bad? So many different locations offered with helpful staff and people. Coordinate lots of fabulous group activities and offer amazing educational experiences. Such a great learning and growing experience navigating different cities and new cultures. Met friends that will last a lifetime and travel memories that will last always and forever. If it wasn’t for CIEE I wouldn’t have been to Europe at all

Super fun classes with really engaging professors and lots of field trips. The center staff are really helpful too. Housing is clean and comfortable. The center is in a great location in the heart of the city at Puerta del Sol!
I love the Open Campus Block program because it let me study for one block (six weeks) before my regular school started (quarter system). But some people stayed longer or moved to another city. Such a unique and flexible program!
You will meet a lot of really cool people :)

I really loved joining CIEE Rome and getting to explore everything the host culture had to offer. One thing I got out of the experience that was unexpected, was a different way of learning the curriculum. The staff was very passionate about the class subjects and made it an interesting and engaged process. we were able to learn both in the classroom and outside by participating and walking tours, excursions and events. If you have this once in a lifetime opportunity, I would definitely suggest taking it and making the most out of it! It will be an experience and a memory forever. ♥️

Overall my experience with this program was great! It would have been nice to have better communication from CIEE staff prior to program but once in Japan I felt I didn't need that much because you have total freedom and there were not many instances for me personally where I felt I needed to reach out.
My time in Japan was amazing, I was able to explore so much of Tokyo and visit other parts of Japan like Hakone, Kyoto, Osaka and Kamakura. Made so many amazing friends and it was fun to experience Japan with them. I was sad to leave at the end of the 6 weeks and had so much more I wanted to do but its a great way to spend more time in Japan than you would on an ordinary trip. Japan is such an incredible country and I would recommend this to anyone who has any interest in Japan.

My experience was very unique because first of all, a whole new culture. I came into it not knowing what to expect and little study about the country and I was blown away. From learning about tapas and siesta time to experiencing flamenco shows and amazing site visits such as the palace. Everything felt surreal and the friends I made here are sure to be lifelong ones that I will stay in touch with. A bonus is that traveling to nearby places is cheap such as Barcelona or Majorca and can be done over the weekend

For my CIEE Open Campus Program I visited Rome for my first six week block. This program is perfectly designed for students whose main goal while studying abroad is to travel to multiple locations. The class schedule is Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, so Wednesdays are perfect for exploring around the city and your neighborhood and the three day weekends make traveling to new locations in Italy super convenient! While the classes are each 2.5 hours long, it is necessary in order to complete the course credit hours due to the shortened program of only 6 weeks compared to most other schools which generally last the entire semester (approximately 14/15 weeks). The program offered an included overnight trip to Pompeii and Paestem that was no additional charge for students. CIEE also provided opportunities to sign up for events around the city of Rome like pizza making classes, gelato tastings, bike tours, and more - also at no additional cost for students! These were a great way to explore the host city while saving some money which was super valuable for me as a college student! Also, the courses I enrolled in were based around Rome (specifically the architecture and museums in Rome) and they included numerous On-Site visits to different ancient ruins, monuments, and museums all over the city! This was also a great way to get familiar with the large city.

Being in London was awesome, CIEE does a great job with making academics important but giving you time to have fun and travel. People in the program were awesome, made lots of lifetime friends and memories. If given the opportunity you have to go.

You only have class 3 days a week; two classes each day for 2.5 hours each. Nice thing about London is that travel to other parts of Wurope is pretty easy and you have plenty of options. Only thing about London that kind of sucks is that it takes a long time to get to the airports and the city itself is kind of expense.

I spent an incredible 5 months with this program, and experienced so much of Jordan that I never would have without their excellent, hardworking staff. They make sure to expose you to as much local culture as possible, and work within your Arabic abilities, whatever they are. I especially recommend staying with a homestay--they have a solid network of extremely friendly, hospitable families for you to stay with. Many people ask me if it's safe, and I always say: much safer than the U.S.! People in Jordan are more welcoming than you'd believe, and the CIEE staff will make sure you get out and experience that welcoming. Trips to Petra, Wadi Rum, Ajloun--it's all included, and anywhere else you want to visit, you'll have support.

The CIEE building was located in an amazing part of Berlin with easy transportation around the city. Resources provided by the program were beyond helpful and aided in making the integration into the city as easy as possible. Berlin is a notably easy city to integrate into even without speaking any German. The transportation system and structure of the course made it incredibly easy to travel around the country with plenty of time to get back in time for class or internships. Internships were relevant to student's careers and were a great resume booster.
