Once in a lifetime

Barcelona is an awesome location and easy to travel to other countries on weekends. There is ALWAYS something going on in the city and ALWAYS plenty to do and explore. The only thing I really have to complain about this program was that it was SUPER small. Small programs are easier to meet people but we all really had to meet friends at school. Also, while we lived in a really nice apartment close to a main metro line, we really didn't live in the center of the city and had to commute to get anywhere significant. We had really hoped to be closer to the center of Barcelona. Overall, you really can't go wrong with this program or any program - Barcelona is AWESOME.

Experience of a lifetime

Studying abroad was the best decision I've ever made. I was fortunate enough to have this opportunity and meet lifetime friends. I also tried to make the most of this trip with traveling as much as possible. When talking about SAI, I did have a rough time adapting with my roommates and finding my place, but with the help of Miriea I had a much easier time getting though this. My advice for anyone studying abroad, make the most of it. Don't stick with what's familiar, go out of your comfort zone.

One of the best experiences of my life.

I owe John Cabot and SAI a huge thank you for making my experience in Rome one of the best in my life. I have grown and learned so much from my time there, and I can't wait to go back. I will never forget the incredible food and people I met there.

Abroad in Firenze

The first few days were difficult, but once a student gets involved in school and social events the experience becomes so much better! Those who did not enjoy all of their experience in Florence did not seek friends and involvement on campus. I personally enjoyed simply participating in the ABS class in the gym with the soccer coach and other school related activities which helped me meet other students and friends. The program was great, academics were a breeze compared to my liberal arts school back home but I still learned so much from my professors! They will be mentors for life and great to keep in touch with. Housing was good and nice and close to school (right next to Santa Croce).

Necessary Life Experience

This experience has been life changing. Every study abroad student says that, but it is 100 percent true. Studying abroad is something that I think is necessary for any young person to experience to learn about new cultures, learn about themselves and open their eyes to the world outside of their home countries. SAI has been more than helpful throughout this entire time. Before my trip, they made sure I was prepared and answered any of my questions very promptly. During my time in Barcelona, we had the most helpful and loving coordinator who was always willing to drop everything at a moments notice to help her students. Now after the program is done, I continue to keep in contact with the SAI staff and I plan to promote them through my school. Overall, my time abroad couldn´t have been better. The memories and things I have learned here will always be remembered in my heart.

What would you improve about this program?
I LOVED the program but if I had to make a suggestion, it would be to house the boys and girls closer together to make for a better relationship between the two groups.

Fantastic experience

I have loved living and studying in Rome! I would go to class then get gelato and walk around and explore Rome with my friends. With no class on Friday we would usually start traveling on Thursday and I got to seed some incredible places around Europe. I never wanted to leave and will always love my time in Rome.

SAI was absolutely INCREDIBLE

I have no complaints whatsoever when it comes to have been apart of the SAI program during my time abroad. The staff was friendly, extremely helpful and wonderful. The orientation and getting to know our new home was smooth and went off without a hitch. The trips that we were able to be apart of through SAI were spectacular. There is not a negative thing I could possibly say about SAI. Thank you for an experience I will NEVER forget!

I'd Go Again

I loved the experience overall it was great. The Tuscany trip was fun and fell at a perfect time in the semester. I loved the cooking class experience and also the gelato class, the owners were absolutely great. They were so much fun and were great for getting to spend some time with other SAI students.

Overall the program is great. I think it would be helpful to have gone on more tours around Rome, but obviously there are opportunities we can find for those experiences. I also would have liked to be located more closely to campus or in an area other than trastevere. It was a great experience and the team really helped me out when I had both my wallet and phone stolen.

Excellent program for my abroad experience!

Going to John Cabot University through SAI has made my abroad experience so much better. The program is well organized and has a caring staff. Great activities for SAI students and I appreciate knowing there is always someone here to help me if I need it. An overall amazing program!!

Made The Right Choice

I found SAI through their program book in my school's Study Abroad Office. I even looked at applying to JCU on my own, without being SAI, to save money and the application looked straightforward. But SAI's support extends beyond just living in Rome, starting with the visa process. Program coordinators do a lot to make students feel welcome and try to learn names as soon as possible.
In short, I am incredibly glad I chose to study abroad with SAI. For what it's worth, living in an external apartment seems to be much more "fun" and in line with the typical upperclassman American college student lifestyle... read: the JCU dormitory is incredibly strict. Furthermore, my apartment is beautiful and very large.

More spaces for the cooking classes/gelato workshops!
