Deciding to intern overseas was a great choice which allowed myself to gain valuable cultural insights and experience which I would have been able to find domestically. Shanghai is an amazing metropolis to explore and discover the infinite delights that it has to offer. Especially the extensive culinary options ranging with everything from Peking duck to Hot Pot as well as Yakitori and more.

Howa and Rodrick were excellent hosts during my stay in Shanghai and were helpful in assisting whenever necessary. They ensured I was comfortable and organised everything for the duration of the internship.

Overall a great experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to undertake an internship and a new and challenging environment.

Shanghai is a very busy city with a huge population. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to live and work in such a big city while having the chance to meet so many different people from so many different backgrounds.

From my original interviews until the time came that I was due to leave China, my hosts Howa and Roderick from Next Step Connections, were always more than happy to help whenever I had any problem and even took the time to show me around the city to make sure I was comfortable in my new surroundings.

I encourage more people to try out these kinds of programs, step out of your comfort zone and see how people live in a developing country! Come here with an open mind and try to do as many different things that you can find. I found the cheapest and yummiest food was in the tiny restaurant in the suburbs, although the restaurants weren't to the standard of those in Western cities, the true tastes of Shanghai can be found if you just get out there and try new things.

NSC did a great job in coordinating my experience while abroad in addition to connecting me to local companies from which I could choose to work from. This experience was the best of my life and it could not have been so great if it weren't for NSC. The staff did a great job of finding an interneship within their field, coordinating living arrangements at an excellent location, providing activities for our group to participate in throughout the summer, and addressing the needs of anyone in the program. Being a public health major, I was connected with a medical tourism company located in Bangkok. The majority of the staff spoke English and were very accommodating, so I was able to transition seamlessly into the workplace. I gained a great deal of experience throughout the program, and I would recommend them to anyone traveling abroad.

NSC helped me to find the company for internship. It also arranged housing, transportation as well as activities for us. The internship was well-planned. It was easier for me to adapt to lifestyle of Bangkok. The staff were very helpful for answering my enquiries. I learnt more about Thailand from my job. I also had plenty of time to explore the city during weekends. It was enjoyable. My time in Bangkok was fruitful.

I loved the welcoming and supportive group of people that ran Next Step connections. Whenever I had questions about my internship or general questions about living in Bangkok, they were there to help. This program was also great at setting up dinners with companies, having speakers share their expertise, and hosting networking events for students to meet employers. Another bonus was the residence that NSC set us up with was super nice with lots of amenities and furniture. I’d recommend anyone who is thinking about going abroad to do it through Next Step! I was also extremely satisfied with the company they set me up with. I learned a whole lot about affiliate marketing and the Medical tourism industry, which wouldn’t have been possible otherwise.

The program was very well-organized! We are arranged to live in a nice and comfortable hotel and enjoyed the sightseeing of the city. Overall，it was a Good opportunity to improve ourselves in a multicultural working environment. We have met people from different countries and have fun with each other. Also, we have got in touch with different types of work, which are really practical for our future development.

It’s great in Shanghai. All of us enjoy it! It’s happy to learn and enjoy new things with different people with different backgrounds. It is an precious enperience to make this decision. The program provided us a comfortable and ease environment. The company that matched for us is great and indeed learned a lot from them. The program staff are warm- hearted and passionate. overall, it is good experience. At the beginning, it would be better to provide us more time and information for selecting and interview. after arriving shanghai, staff's service was quite careful and took care of each student of our programs. The hotel was really well located, giving a comfortable and convenient living space. About the internship, though it is not related with my professional knowledge, it impressed me a lot with the team work, unforgettable trip of trade mission. It is equal to widen my choice of alternative workplace.such as public relation or marketing.

The internship in Shanghai is my first time to work in a big city. The work experience is amazing and finally I have established good relationships with all of my colleagues. The first week of internship you may feel tired but everything becomes better with time pass by. You can get involved into international work environment and get access to basic business culture.Try to be hard and active when you start you internship and always believe in yourself.

This internship experience has been very valuable for me, not only does it equipped me with relevant professional knowledge that I would need for furture career, it also allowed me to network with professionals in the field. This internship had worked beyond my expectation. NSC 's staff had provided assistance throughout the internship and shown care for intern students, they gave timely advise and reply to any enquiry.
