Fiji Shark Studies

I had the best trip with Broadreach! Each day of the trip had a purpose and started out early. Each dive had high expectations that were filled and the course work followed along with the program really well. Sometimes on days when we took off from diving it was slow, but it was nice to have some rest. Also, living in a villa was incredible, but it meant using sleeping bags. On the packing list they leave off to bring a pillow so don't forget that! There was definitely a balance on the trip with a kayaking trip and hikes and visits to other villas to get the cultural experience. A lot of what Broadreach offers cannot be done separate from the group so that is one of my favorite parts of the company. Overall, this was my second trip with Broadreach and I could not be more pleased with all that they do to make their trips as enriching as possible.

Best Summer Ever!

This Broadreach trip changed my life. Every day was a new adventure spent with great people in great places. During the trip I made 12 new best friends. On top of that, the counselors were some of the nicest, smartest, and benevolent people i have ever met.

Life changing

As with all Broadreach trips, the days start early, end late, and are packed with fun and activity. This trip provided me with a lifelong friend and pen-pal, a boatload of new experiences, applicable knowledge about primates and ecology, and an adventure I'll never forget.

What would you improve about this program?
The only thing I would change about the program would be to make it longer so I could enjoy it that much more.

It was Perfect!

I experienced the Broadreach PADI program during the Marine Biology San Salvador, Bahamas trip. i was terrified the first day because i had never even gone snorkeling, but as soon as we went on our first dive i fell in love! the support was great and the learning experience was at the perfect comfortable pace. I may have just gotten lucky, but my group was AMAZING! we all had such a smooth time learning how to dive (especially since we were in San Sal), and because of our PADI experience, we all still talk everyday, 6 months later! the water was beautiful and i couldn't have had more fun!

What would you improve about this program?
the food wasn't very good, but everything else was truly perfect!

Epic!

This program was the first Broadreach adventure that I have been on but I do not think it will be the last! It was an incredible experience from start to finish. From the moment I arrived in Belize my two instructors were welcoming, supportive, and hilarious! Our group of 9 was an epic one and I can truly say that I made friends on this trip to last a lifetime. Everyone worked well together and we were constantly making each other laugh. We did everything from making up choreographed dances, to giving each other nicknames, to eating meals while speaking in accents. Not only did this trip give me the opportunity to visit 3 countries in a little over three weeks, I also got to try tons of new activities! For the first week of the trip (in Belize), we went scuba diving...which was AWESOME. I got my PADI certification while on the trip and developed a love for the sport. In Costa Rica we did things like hiking and white water rafting and in Panama we went surfing!!! We were constantly on the go, but I didn't mind. On top of all of the fun new things I got to try, I also got to interact with some locals in the countries that we visited through community service projects. We helped to build a greenhouse for a school in Costa Rica and painted soccer goals for another school on an island in Panama. The service work was extremely rewarding and spending time with the kids was a ton of fun! One of my favorite memories from the trip was when we took a break from building the greenhouse and played a game of soccer with the kids from the school in Costa Rica. I loved every minute of my trip and was very sad to have to leave after only 24 days. I plan on going on another Broadreach trip this summer and am super excited for it!!!!!

Amazing Experience in the Bahamas!

The Marine Biology trip in the Bahamas was truly amazing! It opened my eyes to a whole new view of the Bahamas and its natural undersea life. I was able to experience the real Bahamas when I went from Nassau to San Salvador. The island's untouched beauty was amazing and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We stayed at the Gerace Research Center, where all our needs were met by the wonderful staff. There was a perfect combination of fun, exploring, and learning about Marine Biology in both our indoor and outdoor classrooms. I met many great new people on this trip as well. It was definitely the opportunity of a lifetime!

What would you improve about this program?
There is a lot of studying and work that you have to do (projects, midterm, final) but it balances out with the fun and free time and it gives you college credits. The living conditions are also a little small, but manageable and you are hardly in the rooms because there is so much to do!

Word cannot describe

Words cannot describe my Broadreach experience.

Broadreach live on-board diving programs are unique in that they are productive, but do not sacrifice traveling. This was my second diving/sailing program, and not only did I earn more certifications this time, I also traveled to more places. On my previous program, we were confined to one country, but on my Broadreach program, I managed to visit St Maarten, Saba, St Eustatius, St Kitts and Nevis, and St Barts. We experienced different cultures, spoke different languages, and spent different currencies.

The diving was amazing. Because of the diverse places we went to, each place we dove was unique. And unlike other diving programs that have a strict diving schedule, Broadreach instructors leave the scheduling to the participants. Because my crew was extremely eager and productive, we squeezed in so many dives! I ended up earning around nine certifications, and that is all due to the fact that we could schedule the dives as a group.

I couldn't asked for a better way to spend the first half of August! Thank you Broadreach!

What would you improve about this program?
The only issue we had was a shortage of food. The crew really liked to help ourselves to snacks during the day, and we quickly ran out of the provided food.

Best Summer of my Life

Studying Marine Biology in the very small island of San Salvador Bahamas was definitely one of the most unforgettable experiences. This was my first time being away for 3 weeks, i was a little nervous at first but as soon as i met the instructors i knew i was gonna have so much fun. I made friends with the most amazing people. It's true what they say, by the end you really do become a huge "broadreach family."The diving was an incredible experience and the instructors are always patient with you, allowing you to become a better diver. The program has a bit of academic work, however when your lessons are for example learning about sharks anatomy on the beach it doesn't feel like school work at all. You learn about one thing in the classroom and get the chance to see it up close the next day during your dives. This trip is an amazing opportunity and anyone given the chance to go should not turn it down!

Absolutely Amazing

This was, by far, the best trip I have ever been on. From the Bull sharks, to the people, to the Academic activities, this is not a program to miss out on. The Instructors are one-of-a-kind people, and they would gladly put every thing on the line for you.

What would you improve about this program?
If I had to change something, It would be to slightly extend the Village visit/
