TESOL Certification Course Review

I greatly enjoyed completing this course. The modules were engaging and specific, and I did not find any of the content difficult to grasp. The use of in-classroom videos was helpful, there were a few, fun interactive elements, and it did not feel overwhelming to complete the course quickly. In particular, I found the videos from Teacher Jay to be very charming and helpful, as he had a teaching style I'd love to emulate when I begin teaching myself. Overall, I am very happy with the course seeing as it was cheap, effective, and I now feel prepared to take on a classroom and teach English.

In My New Life, I Teach English in Japan

After teaching in China for about 20 years, I finally had the idea of starting a new life overseas. So, I obtained my TESOL certificate and began my great life adventure. My first stop was Japan, a unique country. Unlike many of my friends who live and teach in Southeast Asia, the distinct culture here and the less widespread English education make being an English teacher a very special experience. I love teaching in the classroom, and I also love exploring different worlds. I hope to bring English to various students and also to show the world to more people.

What was your funniest moment?
"Yes" Doesn't Always Mean "Yes": When you ask students, "Do you understand?", all of them nod and say "Yes!" You assume they've all grasped it, but when you do an exercise, you discover that many haven't fully understood. You later realize that in Japan, "Yes" sometimes simply means "I'm listening" or "I understand what you're saying," rather than "I've comprehended all the content." You might jokingly mock yourself, "So, the meaning of 'Yes' is actually so profound!

Never Appreciated TESOL Certification Like This!

To begin with, I hold a degree in Secondary Education with a major in English. This being said, I am familiar with most, if not all, of the course modules or topics. Surprisingly, I still found the entire course to be enlightening and productive. I gained fresh insights into teaching English, especially its basic yet often overlooked components. I do not regret taking this course, which I consider to be heaven-sent. I hope that more English teachers like me get to know and enroll in this course.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Take things slowly but surely.
Pros
  • Self-paced
  • Comprehensive content

How I found it

Reflecting on my TEFL learning journey, I am overwhelmed with gratitude and pride. Earning my TEFL certificate has not only equipped me with the skills to teach English as a foreign language, but it has also transformed me on a personal level. I embarked on this journey with curiosity and hope, and now I look back with a sense of deep accomplishment.

The program exceeded all my expectations in both content and structure. The curriculum was comprehensive and well-organized, covering all the essential aspects of English language teaching—from grammar instruction and classroom management to lesson planning and cultural awareness. Every module was engaging, interactive, and thoughtfully designed to ensure that we not only absorbed the theory but also had opportunities to apply it in practical ways.

One of the most valuable parts of my learning experience was how the program encouraged reflection and creativity. I found myself thinking deeply about how to connect with students from diverse backgrounds and how to tailor lessons to different learning styles. Through peer discussions, tutor feedback, and various interactive tasks, I developed confidence in my ability to step into a classroom and make a difference.

I also appreciated the flexibility of the online platform. It allowed me to learn at my own pace and fit my studies around my daily responsibilities. The support from the TEFL staff was outstanding—any questions I had were answered promptly and with care. It never felt like I was doing this alone; there was always someone cheering me on and guiding me forward.

Achieving this certification feels like unlocking a door to a world full of possibilities. I am incredibly thankful for the knowledge I’ve gained and the encouragement I’ve received throughout this process. It’s not just a piece of paper—it's a symbol of growth, hard work, and resilience. I now feel empowered to teach English anywhere in the world, to engage with different cultures, and to share in the joy of helping others achieve their language goals.

There were, of course, moments of challenge—days when grammar rules made my head spin or when I worried about whether I’d ever master the perfect lesson plan. But those moments were outweighed by the sense of progress and the growing belief in my ability to succeed. And now, having completed the program, I can say with full confidence that it was all worth it.

If you’re considering embarking on a TEFL journey, I can honestly say: go for it. This experience has opened my mind, enriched my skills, and given me a profound sense of purpose. I am proud of myself, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity. This certificate is more than an achievement—it’s the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
The most nerve-wracking moment of my TEFL journey was delivering my first mock lesson. My hands were shaking, my mind blanked for a second, and I felt completely exposed. But I took a breath, improvised, and pushed through. That scary moment turned into a huge confidence boost—and it reminded me that growth always begins at the edge of your comfort zone.
Pros
  • Flexible learning
  • supportive staff
  • comprehensive content
Cons
  • challenging grammar units

I recently completed my 120 Hours TESOL/TEFL course, and it’s been an incredibly rewarding experience. The lessons were well-structured, practical, and filled with useful tips for real classroom situations—especially for online teaching.

As someone new to the field, I appreciated how the course broke down grammar, teaching methods, and classroom management in a clear and engaging way. I feel much more confident and prepared to start my journey as an English teacher.

  • Great tips for online class setup, demo classes, and real classroom situations
  • Flexible and self-paced – You can study anytime, which is perfect for those balancing work or family commitments.

Great Course!!!!

At the beginning of the course , I found the modules to be a bit challenging ,learning all the new terms and trying to fully understand the concepts was a lot to process, but as the program went on I began to ease into the learning process and it got better with time, consistency and practice. The layout and design was easy to use and understand. I also enjoyed the different learning videos of how the English tutors would have the different teaching techniques in class with real life situations with real students which was not staged but in its original form . I would definitely recommend this course.

What was your funniest moment?
During one of the learning videos , a child stood up and waved at the camera that was recording, that was so hilarious.
Pros
  • I loved how genuine the class videos were depicted, it was a typical class environment with real life situations
  • the design and layout of learning material was excellent
  • I loved the fact that you could learn at your own pace, and pick up from where you had left off

The courses are excellent, help me a lot

Enrolling in this particular TESOL course has truly been an unparalleled and transformative experience, far exceeding my initial expectations. As someone deeply passionate about language education, I sought a program that would not only equip me with the foundational knowledge but also inspire me to become a truly effective and adaptable English teacher. This course delivered on all fronts, and I cannot recommend it highly enough to aspiring or current educators.

From the very outset, the course structure was remarkably well-organized and logically sequenced. It started with essential theoretical frameworks, laying a solid groundwork in language acquisition theories, pedagogical approaches, and the intricacies of English phonology and grammar. What truly set this program apart was how seamlessly it transitioned from theory to practice. Each module was carefully crafted to ensure that the academic concepts were immediately applicable to real-world classroom scenarios. This practical orientation was incredibly valuable, as it allowed me to visualize how I would implement strategies and manage classrooms long before I stepped into one.

My Unique TESOL Journey with World TESOL Academy

What made my experience with the World TESOL Academy truly unique wasn’t just the convenience or affordability, it was how the program quietly reshaped my confidence as a teacher without me even realizing it at first. Unlike many online certifications, the World TESOL Academy doesn’t just hand you theory, it gets you into a style of learning that mirrors real-world classrooms. The content felt alive, the modules were digestible yet deeply practical, and the self-paced format gave me time to reflect and grow in my own teaching style.

But here’s something I’ve never heard anyone say, and it might just be the most irresistible part: the course teaches you how to teach learners who learn differently, even without stating it outright. It’s subtle, but intentional. The structure itself models how to simplify complex ideas for global students, meaning you're not just learning what to teach, you're absorbing how to teach across cultures and learning abilities, by example.

For anyone wondering if it’s worth it: this isn't just a certificate. It’s a shift in how you see communication, learning, and your ability to impact lives, even online.

What was your funniest moment?
One of the most hilarious moments was during one of Teacher Evghenii’s classes, when a student suddenly stood right in front of the camera and started making funny faces at the camera. The timing was perfect, and I burst into laughter - it was one of those unexpected, light-hearted moments that made learning even more enjoyable!
Pros
  • The course is budget-friendly, especially compared to other TESOL certifications, making it accessible to more aspiring teachers worldwide.
  • The certification is accepted by many schools and institutions around the world, both online and in-person.
  • The content is clear and beginner-friendly, offering a solid foundation for new ESL teachers.
Cons
  • Because it’s fully self-paced and online, there’s no built-in community for peer interaction unless you create it yourself.
