Excellent self-paced TESOL course

Happy to have completed this TESOL course successfully. This course allows me to pace myself while juggling work and self-upgrading to gain this certification. Content of course is well-balanced: between English as a language and also preparation of the mental part of class planning and interaction. This course also helps with class planning and organisation. I chose this course because it is accredited and recognised. I will definitely remember the pointers in the course for my classes and students in the future. Thank you!

Rewarding Experience

This course is more than I expected. It is complete and covers everything needed from the basics to the tiny details. But it was a real challenge that proved there is still an infinity of things about teaching I need to learn. I am very happy I completed this course, it's an amazing achievement for me. I would say this is probably the best online course I have done in my life. I am so grateful chose to do it this way even when I found it offered in some other institutions or platforms. I enjoyed this learning experience a lot!

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
Dedicate even more time to it, for sure.
Pros
  • Time flexible
  • Unexpensive
  • Complete

An Exceptional Learning Experience – Highly Recommended!

I recently completed and passed my TEFL course, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the entire experience. From start to finish, the course was engaging, informative, and comprehensive. The content was well-organized and covered everything from lesson planning to classroom management, ensuring I feel fully prepared to teach English to non-native speakers.

The course structure was flexible, allowing me to study at my own pace while still providing clear deadlines and support when needed. The materials were practical and easy to follow, with interactive modules and plenty of opportunities to apply what I learned. I particularly appreciated the emphasis on real-world teaching scenarios and how to adapt to different student needs.

The tutors were incredibly knowledgeable, always available to answer questions, and provided insightful feedback that helped me improve along the way. They made sure I understood the core principles of teaching English and gave me the confidence to step into a classroom environment.

I feel much more confident in my ability to teach English to students from various backgrounds, and I’m excited to begin applying everything I’ve learned in real-world teaching situations. This course was definitely worth the time and investment, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in pursuing a career in teaching English as a foreign language.

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
So, there you were, all brave and excited, stepping up to the culinary challenge of trying crocodile meat. You probably thought, “Hey, it’s just another exotic meat, like kangaroo or alligator, right? How bad can it be?”

Well, turns out, the universe had other plans for your stomach. You took that first bite—crunch—and for a brief moment, you were like, “This isn’t so bad, actually.” A mix of chicken and fish, a little tougher, a little fancier. You felt like a culinary pioneer, a true adventurer in the wild… until your body went, “Nope. Not today, buddy.”

It started with a small rumble in your stomach. You thought it was nothing, maybe just a food baby. But then, oh no, it started escalating—your stomach became a thunderstorm, and the Crocodile Gods were not pleased. Your mouth went dry, and suddenly, you could hear the distant roar of the croc in your gut. You realized the only thing that was going to be wild here was the ride to the ER.

You staggered to the hospital, holding your stomach like you were carrying the weight of the entire Everglades in there. And of course, when you finally made it to the hospital, they asked the inevitable question: “What did you eat?”

With a sheepish grin, you muttered, “Uh... crocodile.”

The doctor’s eyes widened, and you swear you heard a gasp in the background like it was some ancient secret. “Crocodile? Are you sure it wasn’t just a weird food coma?”

But no, it was no coma. The crocodile had triumphed over you, sending you into a temporary state of "hospital VIP" where you got all the attention, plus a great story for the future. And as the nurses tried to figure out exactly what went wrong, you sat there thinking: “Well, at least I tried something new…”

The good news? You survived the croc attack, and now you have a hilarious, one-of-a-kind “meal gone wrong” story to tell at every dinner party.

My Experience With TESOL

It was all-in-all a great opportunity. I was able to consolidate a great deal of linguitics knowledge, learn new context for class teaching (as I hadn't had this opportunity before), appreciate much more of the multi-layered art of teaching in a very humane and caring way, among other things. Language is about connection, communication, people, culture, lives and in my opinion TESOL encapsulates all of those themes very well. I'm very happy to attain this certification and to be even more prepared to what's coming next. Thank you all!

What would you improve about this program?
I think it focused on teaching adults less than I think it's interesting. It could devote a little more time to that.
Pros
  • easy-understanding
  • pretty complete
  • engaging
Cons
  • doesn't focus on teaching adults a lot, comparatively

Very Pleased!

I'm very happy to finally have finished this course! Despite the course being amazing, engaging, and very easy to study, due to personal reasons I had my share of getting unmotivated and off-track. For example, being busy with work and family, as well as other life-situations. Gladly, I kept going and am very excited for what is to come.

Overall I'm very pleased with World Tesol Academy and the way they've constructed this course, I genuinely have no complaints! Thank you!

I would have loved to read some more about teaching in the UAE or more ettiquettes of teaching there, but no complaints!

What would you improve about this program?
One thing I would've loved to get more informed about would be; teaching in the middle east. A lot was mentioned about Asia and etiquettes, etc, but almost none or was mentioned about working in the Middle east such as UAE etc, some etiquettes, etc. Other than that, I have no comments about the actual course.
Pros
  • Easy
  • Engaging
  • Clear

Never dreamed of becoming a teacher, NOT UNTIL!

I never dreamed of becoming a teacher when I was young. When I started working in the corporate world, I was given an opportunity as a part-timer private tutor, and it lasted for a year. I really enjoyed it, especially when my students got higher grades because of my help. I've decided to take this course, so I could work abroad in different schools. The lessons and strategies on this course helped me gain knowledge to do it in my future career as an English Teacher abroad. Some lessons were familiar to me, so I finished the course in 4 days. I would recommend this 120-hour TESOL/TEFL course.

What was your funniest moment?
The funniest moment I had while taking the course was when there was a video every time on how to teach children in the lessons, and I was entertained too, like I am in the same classroom as the teacher and the students in the video.

TESOL 120 Hour Course

I appreciate that in this course, a large focus was on strategies in the classroom. The parts of the English language that are more difficult for learners to understand, can be difficult for teachers to help students practice. This course focused on each segment and then classroom strategy. This was unexpected! I copied down a lot of game ideas and activities. I feel confident that I can use various activities in the classroom when engagement seems low. I am currently a substitute teacher and I believe this will benefit me in my current work as well!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Do not be intimidated. A little bit at a time, and then a solid review will prepare you for the exam.
Pros
  • Teacher strategy
  • Simple layout
  • Easy to understand material

I love TESOL

Through my preparation and participation in the TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) exam, I have gained a wealth of knowledge and skills that have significantly enhanced my understanding of effective language teaching. This experience has not only deepened my theoretical understanding but also provided practical tools and strategies that I can apply in my future teaching career.

One of the most valuable aspects of the TESOL exam was learning about the different methodologies and approaches to language teaching. I became familiar with the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) approach, which emphasizes the importance of interaction and communication in the learning process. This approach encourages students to use the language in real-life situations, fostering both fluency and accuracy. Understanding this methodology has helped me see the importance of creating a classroom environment where students feel comfortable practicing and using the language actively.

Another key area I explored was lesson planning and curriculum design. The TESOL exam taught me how to structure lessons effectively, ensuring that each session has clear objectives, engaging activities, and appropriate assessments. I learned how to create lesson plans that cater to different learning styles and levels, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to succeed. This skill will be invaluable in my future teaching, as it allows me to tailor my lessons to meet the diverse needs of my students.

Classroom management was another critical area covered in the TESOL exam. I learned strategies for maintaining a positive and productive learning environment, such as setting clear expectations, using positive reinforcement, and managing disruptive behavior effectively. These techniques will help me create a classroom atmosphere that is conducive to learning, where students feel respected and motivated to participate.

The TESOL exam also emphasized the importance of cultural sensitivity and awareness in language teaching. I learned how to incorporate cultural elements into my lessons, helping students understand the cultural context of the language they are learning. This not only enhances their language skills but also fosters a deeper appreciation for different cultures. In an increasingly globalized world, this aspect of teaching is crucial for preparing students to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries.

Assessment and feedback were other areas where I gained significant insights. The TESOL exam taught me how to design assessments that accurately measure students' language proficiency and provide meaningful feedback that supports their learning. I learned about formative and summative assessments and how to use them to guide my teaching and help students track their progress. This knowledge will enable me to provide constructive feedback that encourages continuous improvement and helps students achieve their language learning goals.

Technology integration in language teaching was another important topic covered in the TESOL exam. I learned about various digital tools and resources that can enhance language learning, such as language learning apps, online platforms, and multimedia resources. Understanding how to effectively integrate technology into my teaching will allow me to create more engaging and interactive lessons, catering to the digital-native generation of learners.

Finally, the TESOL exam reinforced the importance of reflective practice in teaching. I learned how to critically evaluate my teaching methods and make adjustments based on student feedback and outcomes. This continuous process of reflection and improvement will be essential in my future teaching career, ensuring that I remain adaptable and responsive to the needs of my students.

In conclusion, the TESOL exam has provided me with a comprehensive foundation in language teaching, equipping me with the knowledge and skills necessary to be an effective and empathetic educator. From understanding different teaching methodologies to mastering classroom management and integrating technology, the insights I gained will undoubtedly shape my approach to teaching and help me create a positive and impactful learning experience for my students. As I move forward in my teaching career, I am confident that the lessons learned from the TESOL exam will continue to guide and inspire me in my journey as an educator.
