I learnt a lot more than expected.
Also the course was easy to navigate and was very clear with extra helpful tips along the way! It threw me back to being in school at different ages and overall was a good course that I'm sure will really help me going froward!
To add to this if you need any help or get stuck with anything along the way there are tutors available to help you along the way. You can do the course as quickly or slowly as you want allowing for you to learn and study at your own pace! Awesome course!

Amazing Accredited Course

Despite having multiple PhD and Doctorates in other areas (not in English), it's always my inspiration to teach English to non-English speakers. The language brings anyone a long way ahead. Despite my PhD and Doctorate, organizations schools and universities WANT teachers and lecturers to have at least TEFL or TESOL, and there are many training providers out there offering such courses. I investigated all of them, from the most expensive one from Cambridge to those which cost less than USD10 via Groupon. After final days and weeks of investigation, the expensive ones are too far *beyond reach, but this is the BEST after the " Top Tier TESOL training providers". Few things triggered me to select and choose WTA as my final choice :
1. WTA has the CPD logo on its certificate (many other second or lower-tier training providers don't have them - meaning they might not be CPD recognised, or could not be bothered to put that logo on their certificated (either or...)
2. WTA has "ACCREDITAT" logo on its certificate to give further confirm of its accreditation and "legitness"
3. WTA has the UKRLK UK Registered Training Provider and anyone can check with the website to confirm it. So it confirms it has gone through the proper registration process in the UK
4. It guarantees that CHINA and Vietnam at least WOULD recognise the WTA certificate. Although WTA can only confirm China and Vietnam, China's population is one of the largest in the world. If one combines the United States and Europe, China's population is much more, and CHina and Vietnam is there the market for TESOL and TEFL. No point teaching English to the UK and the USA - it's like selling sand to the Arabs !!

And finally, aesthetically !!!, WTA has the MOST beautiful certificate of TESOL IN THE WORLD. Even the top tier training providers certificates are NO match to such a beautiful, professional and "EYE POPPING" WTA certifiated. As you can see, in Youtubes and all, every WTA graduates are proud "showing off" their WTA certificate - well this is estetics, but every single bit goes a long way. People pay and they want the best of "everything" - basic human nature.

So, in short, I never regret enrolling for my TESOL at WTA. Even if WTA one day increase the enrollment fee to USD100++ or more, I will still pay for it !! CONGRATULATIONS and GOOD JOB WTA Team !!

From the initial decision to enroll to the final stage of the course, each step of the journey provided invaluable insights and challenged me in unexpected ways. The course not only equipped me with the essential theoretical knowledge but also immersed me in practical teaching methodologies. This diversity enhanced our discussions, fostering a rich exchange of ideas and approaches.

If I may suggest improvements for the TESOL course, I recommend enhancing the practical teaching components. Providing more opportunities for real classroom experience or interactive simulations would better prepare educators for the challenges they may face. Additionally, incorporating modules on integrating technology into language teaching could equip participants with valuable skills for the modern classroom. Continuous updates to reflect the latest trends and methodologies in language education would further ensure the course's relevance and effectiveness.

Cons
  • Theoretical Overload
  • Feedback Mechanisms
  • No scope of ensuring speaking skill of the participants. Needed voice record option for the participants for 5 minutes

TEFL

The course was well balanced, it covered the essential grammar that a new English learners would need to start their English journey, a concise and detailed teaching methods for teachers to deliver the material, and all in the form of interesting classes.

It was basically like whip cream or a good cup of coffee, very rich.

Also, the assistant was available whenever needed. Upon asking the question, the answers arrives either immediately or maximum after 3-4 hours. An email with the inquiry and the answer are sent to the email ox as well.

The answers explains the mater in question in a very clear, and detailed way.

Great course

I thought this online course was extremely well put together and easy to understand. The way they sectioned the modules and submodules allowed for optimal learning and focus. They include videos, photos, charts, and helpful links. I have ADHD and this course has been one of the best online courses I've taken! They provide support should you need it or have any questions about the material. It's very well organized. They set you up for success and I feel comfortable and excited about teaching English! 10/10 would recommend.

Review on WorldTESOL

The course is pretty straightforward and with just an hour or two a day you can easily complete the entire set of courses (TESOL, TEAL, TEYL and TEOL) within the given period of time. I'm not a native English speaker; it's only my second language although I have been learning and using the English language since elementary. I'd say that the course wouldn't be too difficult for those who doesn't speak English as their main or second language but I still advise to further learn through more comprehensive courses.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
The course is worth the money especially for people who are already fluent with English; but for those who don't speak English as their primary or secondary language but want to teach the language, I advice that you continue on learning English further on more comprehensive courses.
Pros
  • The courses are quite comprehensive and are well organized.
  • There's plenty of links to materials and references. Very useful to bookmark for future use.
  • Their support team is quick to respond. Also, the period given is enough time to complete the course.
Cons
  • It was too easy to pass the tests and too lenient to pass. I feel like even those unqualified could pass it because they can just retake the tests until they pass.
  • There's no interactive features in the program. It would be a big plus if the program offers teaching demos.
  • Some items are outdated; things like links to outside websites and other references are either missing or already sold out long ago.
