I completed this TEFL course while living in Taiwan and studying Mandarin, and overall I found it to be a practical introduction to English language teaching.
What I appreciated most was how the course focused on classroom situations rather than just theory. Topics such as lesson planning, classroom management, motivation, teaching speaking, listening, reading and writing skills gave me a solid understanding of what teaching English actually involves.
The quizzes were straightforward, although some questions occasionally reflected the course’s preferred methodology rather than real-world teaching situations. My advice is to pay attention to the course terminology and definitions, especially concepts such as CCQs, TTT, TBL, PPP and classroom management strategies.
One area that could be improved is the consistency of some assessment questions. A few answers felt open to interpretation, which occasionally made it difficult to understand the reasoning behind the correct response.
Overall, I would recommend this course to anyone considering teaching English abroad or online. It provides a strong foundation, especially for people with little or no previous teaching experience, and it helped me better understand both language learning and classroom practice.
