Teaching Nomad and Ila Afshar

More than six months ago I began working with Ila Afshar from Teaching Nomad, and I am excited to say that she successfully helped me find the perfect job! Ila walked me through every step, was always punctual in her emails and was open to any questions I might have had. Once I completed my online TEFL degree with Teaching Nomad, Ila sent my application and resume to several schools that we thought were appropriate and within a week I had two interviews! I chose to take a position with the first school I interviewed with and I could not be more pleased with my decision. Ila also helped my mother find a job just a few months earlier and the both of us have nothing but incredible things to say about Teaching Nomad and Ila. We were very fortunate to have found Ila, she made finding a job much less stressful!

My first steps as an EFL teacher

This course was very useful to me. I wonder how I could have taught a class without all those tips and plans this training has given me. The teachers were all very proficient, and the 8 hours teaching practice were a big plus. I feel a lot more confident teaching now.

The location of the school was good, quite central. The schedule was not so good though, as most of the classes we taught were evening classes, that meant coming back home quite late. Also the workload (lessons to prepare, chapters to read, portfolio to fill) was a little heavy sometimes.

What would you improve about this program?
The 1 month course is very intense. It is not always easy to deal with personal requirements on a daily basis. I would have preferred if it could have been stretched to 5 weeks or even 2 months.

Best Decision Ever

This was no doubt an intensive course, however, it was definitely one of the best decisions I've ever made. The course schedule and structure was very well-planned out. The teacher training hours and observation hours were both very helpful , and the feedback sessions were also very useful. The instructors were all very professional, they showed that they cared and that they really wants what's best for us. So I would definitely recommend this program!

Blessed to have found Teaching Nomad

I have to say that I looked around for a recruitment agency. I looked...everywhere. I researched recruiters, I signed up for newsletters, I read reviews, I tried subscriptions, I skyped...I really did my research. All of which means that when I say Ila and Teaching Nomad are the best, I REALLY mean they are the best!
I came to Ila with apprehension and some trepidation: Not only did I want a teaching position but I also have a daughter who wanted to come with us and teach abroad AND not one, but two, dogs! Ila didn't hesitate. She was open, professional, caring, considerate and honest. She jumped right in, helping me fill out the forms, uploading documents, giving pre-interview advice, soothing any worries I had. Within a month I was placed with a great school and we just found out today that my daughter was also hired by a Teaching Nomad school! Everything that Teaching Nomad says that it can provide was backed up by the outstanding job done by Ila.
If you are a prospective teacher, not only is this service free, but Teaching Nomad truly has your best interests at heart and will help you every step of the way.
I highly recommend Teaching Nomad and commend Ila Afshar on a job very well done!

Thank you Moira

From the beginning of my application process, Moira has been professional, consistent and kind. I really appreciate how she identified all of my skills and selected a variety of career opportunities that would suit me. Moira presented an amazing career opportunity that i was succesful at securing and that I'm eager to start in a couple of weeks. Throughout the planning and preparation for my departure to Shanghai which hashould been chaotic, I've been able to contact Moira to ask a ton of questions and she's responded to every single query immediately. I land in my new location very soon and Moira has extended her kindness by letting me know that she's available if I run into any challenges.

Moira has made this entire process easy to understand, given me the confidence to deal with the immigration process as well as being a person who is easy to communicate with and approachable.

I want to say a huge thank you to Moira, without you I would not be starting a new journey, career, opportunity and chapter of my life. Thank you.

My TEFL Time

I live in Shanghai and I'm a Chinese teacher in Wall Street English. My manager recommended me to have this course because she said that's useful in teaching practice. Actually, it is really cool and I really learned a lot. My target students are always adults, however, in the part of teaching practice, I tried my best to teach young kids, which gave me some new directions for my career. I like to talk with and teach children. Ginger, Steve, Nik and Lisa are all very very experienced trainers and they helped me a lot in lesson plan and gave me constructive and useful feedbacks. For Chinese trainees, TEFL course is very worthy for you to join in. You can make friends with foreign classmates.

Teaching Nomad TEFL

Teaching Nomad TEFL training is intensive but fruitful. It will prepare you for the environment of TEFL teaching and provide you with the skills needed to create and execute lessons in a busy environment. While not easy, it is certainly rewarding. I would highly reccomend it to any persons interested in obtaining training in TEFL. The assistance and material taught are both of high quality. It is an excellent program.

Amazing Learning Experience

What I feel great in this TEFL course is that "The observation feedback from each class", "The useful ideas from physical books" and "The reinforce part from portfolio". It is very hard to finish the class all day, and then go home to prepare for the next day lesson. But when I get the awesome feedback from different trainers, everything is just worthy. They told me what I should improve with the time management, with the level of content, with the better activities I can offer and so on. All that are great ideas!! I can see I do improve a lot from this amazing learning experience.

What would you improve about this program?
Better to remind the homework to do in the end of the class everyday.
Better to set the most important or useful part in daily teaching. In a few classes, do not just read the content of the physical book.

Look no further

Did my TEFL Course with Teaching Nomad and they also secured me a job placement in Shanghai with a company I'm very happy to work for. The assistance they provided throughout all stages of stages of the course and subsequently cannot be argued it, they really were a great. If you need to do a TEFL course, I see no reason not to go with Teaching Nomad. They even refunded the course fee after they recommended me to my current position.

TN TEFL Program Rating

This course has a lot of good material and great teachers mixed with the opportunity to put your skills to the test right on the run. Great program if you have what it takes to take the challenge. The teachers are very helpful, are always open to share their experience and give very good feedback to help you build your skills and develop. You could probably find here more than you can chew on.

Best!
